“Doing things the right way the first time.” Phil Jackson believes this philosophy is a key component in the success of his company, Nature’s Landscape Services, which is celebrating its 32nd spring in Fayette County this year. Seeing that Fayetteville and Peachtree City were in need of a nursery and landscape company, Jackson opened Nature’s in 1977 after working for a retail garden center. “I’ll never forget the day we opened our doors just down the street from my current office in Fayetteville off Highway 85,” Jackson said. “We didn’t sell one thing.” Nature’s has changed and adapted to Fayette County since those first days. Three years ago the company merged with another local business owner who specialized in chemical treatment of Today Nature’s is a full-service landscape company offering landscape design and installation, maintenance and lawn care. “I have changed my business over the last 32 years and adapted to this growing county that I have raised my family in and call home,” Jackson said. “I’m more excited than ever about my current business model. Providing quality landscape designs and being able to maintain those designs for years to come has brought a real joy to my career. I am looking forward to the next 32 years!” Having a well-educated and knowledgeable staff is one of the qualities that makes Nature’s unique. “Our company is staffed with graduates from Auburn, the University of Georgia and LaGrange College,” Jackson said. He gives this team credit for making his business run smoothly. Deidre Dorsey, who holds a horticulture degree from Auburn University, heads up Nature’s maintenance division. “Her education is why I originally hired her but after seeing her work with our clients I have learned that her personality is what really makes her unique.” Brian Arnold, a graduate of UGA, manages Nature’s tree, shrub and turf care division. Jackson says his expertise and attention to detail is what makes the program work so well. “Caring for plants is his passion and I can see it everyday he walks in the door.” “My family is what makes me excited about going to work,” Jackson said. “My oldest son Philip came to work for me in 2005 after graduating from LaGrange College,” Jackson said. “My younger son, Adam, is working on his degree from Georgia State while helping grow our Tree, Shrub and Turf Care business.” Natures is presently offering clients an affordable six-treatment lawn fertilization and weed control program. Treatments start at only $35. Also, the company offers 50% off a client’s first lawn care treatment. Nature’s office is located at 120 Kathi Ave. in Fayetteville.
