Fayette County government officials have received a “clean audit” for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.

The audit findings were presented to the Fayette County Commission Thursday night. Patricia Pryor of the Cherry, Bekaert and Holland accounting firm told the commission the audit found no material misstatements, no material weakness or any other problems.

Wife, who claimed physical abuse, cites ‘personal reasons’ for dropping case

Peachtree City police arrested two suspects early this afternoon in connection with three entering auto cases.

The suspects were caught thanks to a witness description of the getaway vehicle as it left the Mellow Mushroom restaurant, police said. The suspects were apprehended at the Chick-fil-A in the Kedron Village shopping center, police said.

The Peachtree City Council is considering adding a $25 fee for all tree removal permits.

Currently there is no charge for the permit, though each one requires an on-site visit by a city employee to evaluate the request, City Planner David Rast told council last week.
