Covenant Presbyterian members head for Jamaica this Saturday

Eleven members of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville will travel to Jamaica this Saturday for a week of ministry with Praying Pelican Missions. The group will partner with Westgate Hills Baptist Church to support the Montego Bay suburb, encourage the church, and build relationships with the local people. The group will stay from July 18 through July 24.

Fayetteville Christian plans mission trip
Members of Fayetteville Christian Church are planning a mission trip to Acuna, Mexico Oct. 5-9 to build a house with Casas por Christo. Information packets with application forms are available at the church. All Saints Anglican Church in Peachtree City has scheduled its annual free Music Camp for July 20-24.

Curriculum for the camp includes singing, dancing, and an introduction to various instruments. No previous experience is required. Also, contests and games will be included in the event.

Linda Yelton has joined the weekday preschool staff at Heritage Christian Church.

“Linda brings over 10 years of experience, an enthusiasm for education, and a passion for children,” a spokesperson said.

Heritage Christian Church Preschool offers trained instructors who provide age appropriate activities in a secure and safe environment. The school offers A Beka curriculum, foreign language classes, physical education classes, and school-wide fun days for children ages 2 through Pre-K. Enrollment is now open.

The grand opening of the Second Chance Thrift Shop, a mission of Brooks United Methodist Church, was held Saturday, June 13. Bobby Butler, Brooks mayor, welcomed the shop with a speech and cut the ribbon, along with the Rev. Leslie Langford of Brooks UMC. The shop is in the old Crawford House, circa 1910, located at 151 West McIntosh Rd., Brooks, and is fully stocked with many second hand items, including clothing, household items, books and antiques. Friendship United Methodist Church in Fayetteville will host a singing service Sunday, June 28, at 11 a.m. The service will be highlighted by the award winning gospel quartet, “Won by Faith” from Dallas, Ga. The group has sung with groups such as The Florida Boys, The Dixie Echos, The Anchorman and Palmetto State Quartet.
