to 'Doc's' bash in Griffin

If you want to participate in the 150th birthday of Doc Holliday, set aside Saturday, Aug. 11 and plan to travel to Griffin. The banquet celebration will be at 6:30 p.m. at Jasmine's, in the upstairs banquet room, 315 W. Solomon St. Hollywood stunt man, fast-draw artist and historian of the Old West James Dunham will be the keynote speaker. Pulitzer prize nominee Bruce Olds also will be on hand to autograph his new book, "Bucking the Tiger," a novel about Holliday. A $20 donation to the Doc Holliday Society will allow you food, fun and entertainment. Western attire is welcome but not necessary. For information visit docsociety@aol.com.
