Adult Softball league meeting to be held on Thursday Thursday, Feb. 1 has been designated as the date for the organizational meeting for the coming spring adult softball program. This meeting will be at the Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center at 7:30 p.m. League play will be offered to men in the categories of church, industrial, open and over age 40. A women's league and a co-ed league also will be offered. There were 63 teams that participated in the spring 2000 program. There were 20 church teams, 12 open and 10 industrial teams in the men's program. There weren't enough 40 and over teams to organize a league. The women's league had eight teams and the co-ed league had 13 teams. Games are scheduled Mondays through Fridays with starting times at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. nightly on fields 1, 2 and 3 at Jim Meade memorial park, at the intersection of Ga. Highway 74 south and Rockaway Road. Information on team registration, rosters, rules and regulations, and cost will be provided at this meeting. City and departmental policy relative to late registration and acceptance of teams outside of Fayette County also will be provided. Individuals desiring to play adult softball are welcome to attend this meeting even though the majority of attendees will be representatives of teams that have previously played in this program or will be looking to enter a team for the first time.
