Send complaints
about gas billing to Ga. PSC
On March 1, 2000, an order was issued by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court allowing the Public Service Commission to revoke Peachtree Natural Gas marketer's certificate, but prohibiting further enforcement actions by the Commission. As part of that order, Peachtree was allowed to continue to bill for natural gas and/or other services provided by Peachtree to its customers. Since that order was issued, consumers have complained about billing problems to the Commission. The Commission has contacted Peachtree Natural Gas regarding its procedures for resolving these complaints. Peachtree has indicated it will investigate written complaints regarding incorrect billing charges, and while the dispute is being investigated, cease all collection efforts. Although the Commission now lacks authority to regulate Peachtree Natural Gas, we will try to assist you by facilitating notification of your dispute to Peachtree. For this purpose, we have produced a complaint form for incorrect billing charges. In your complaint, be as specific as possible as to why the billing charge is incorrect. You should also provide copies of cancelled checks, billing statement or other documents to support your claim. You may also use the form if you are seeking a refund for payment made to Peachtree after March 1, 2000, for natural gas not provided by Peachtree. Mail the form and related documents to: Peachtree Natural Gas, P.O. Box 740554, Atlanta, GA 30374, Attn: Customer Service. Mail us copies of the same materials to the above address. We do not have authority to resolve your dispute. However, we hope this information will help generate the resolution you are seeking as a result of the investigation undertaken by Peachtree.
