Jackson forfeits
leadership
Is there a more absurd notion in the world today than the one that Jesse Jackson is deserving a leadership position? Particularly in the church? In an instant, Jesse Jackson validated every black man who created a "single-mom" household. He failed to learn what girlfriends of professional athletes have known for years: Get pregnant with a celebrity's child and you are set for life. Emory sociologist of religion, Nancy Eiesland, was quoted as saying that Jesse Jackson fathering an illegitimate child, "is not a matter that impacts his work as a minister." He would have been "impacted" right out of leadership in every church I've ever attended. Let's examine the character traits of an adulterer: liar, cheat, profoundly thoughtless, impulsive, selfish, and insensitive. Leadership qualities? Not at all. Racism is alive and flourishing. It goes something like this: If you are black (or Democrat) you can do no wrong. If you are white (or Republican) you can do no right. Bill Webster Peachtree City
