South Metro tournament at FCHS this weekend

The South Metro wrestling tournament will be held this weekend at Fayette County High School.

The tournament, one of the largest every year, features many teams from around the area. It gives the coaches and wrestlers an idea of who their biggest competition will be during the season. The tournament is even more important this season as many of the competing schools are in the new region, 4-AAAAA.

Some local schools participating this weekend are McIntosh, East Coweta, Starr's Mill, Northgate and, of course, Fayette County.

Wrestling begins on Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. and on Saturday at 9 a.m.
