Holiday Senior Celebration on tap

Regions Bank and the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center have teamed up to offer a special complimentary holiday luncheon and gala for seniors in Fayette and Coweta counties. Approximately 350 local seniors are expected to attend the luncheon Dec. 19. The ballroom at the Wyndham will be decorated with holiday finery in the spirit of the season and seniors will enjoy a day filled with "scrumptious food and lively entertainment."

In addition to members of Regions Bank's Heritage Club, member of The Joy Club from Fayette Senior Services and seniors from Wesley Woods of Newnan-Peachtree City will be participating.

The luncheon was the brainchild of Regions Bank Heritage Club coordinator Nancy Price and Denise Barker, general manager of the Wyndham.

"By pooling our resources and contacts, we felt that we could provide a wonderful experience for our area senior citizens," remarked Price. "Our Heritage Club has been so successful this is just our way of saying 'thank you' to our many club members."

Entertainment for the luncheon will be provided by the Ellen Edwards Trio and will include traditional holiday tunes, a sing-a-long and, for those who like to do more than listen to music, dancing will immediately follow the luncheon.

Barker is excited about the upcoming holiday luncheon. "It means a lot to me to be a community partner, and I can't think of a better way to be one than by serving this vital segment of our population."

Other sponsors of the luncheon include Aging in Georgia, Regions Investment Services Inc. and Regions Trust Services. The luncheon will be telecast and aired on the local Newnan Utilities cable show, "Aging in Georgia" during the week of Dec. 25.
