Steak Houses

Can anyone tell me of a good Steak House in PTC beside the usual Long Horn, Outback and Ted's? I have company in from Germany, and they always want Amercian steak. We went to Smokey Bones last night for BBQ (of course they had steak, not bad they said). Tonight we went to $3 Cafe, and they had the one steak on the menu and they said tasted like German steak (flat & burnt). They are in Alabama till Wed. and then they come back here for a couple of days.
Any suggestions? Please don't tell me to grill out... not a great cook!

Not steak, but we tried the one in F'ville (across 85 from Penney's) this evening for the first time and it was a pretty good experience. The manager and employees (all African American) were *very* friendly and welcoming, the burgers, waffle fries and chicken tenders (in a kids' meal) were nicely done. When we ordered water, we intended a cup with ice, but received instead bottles of Dasani. I checked later and saw that they did not charge for it. I don't know if this is their practice or was a mistake. Interestingly, they played contemporary Christian music the whole time (Bebo Norman, etc. My wife is a fan; I'm not....) Tuesday nights kids--as many as in your family--eat free so long as the adults order combos. Not a bad deal.

Can't name one in PTC, but Longbranch in Fayetteville is EXCELLENT!! Down-home southern atmosphere and the steaks are "to die for!!" I also highly recommend the fried mushrooms. I think your German friends/family will love it. North HWY 85, behind Waffle House.

is in Morrow at Pilgreen's on Hwy 54 just east of I-75. Bit of a drive but well worth it. Beef...it's what's for dinner!!

If it's a good steakhouse you want, try the Texas Roadhouse in Newnan. It is east of WalMart on Hwy 34, about 1/2 mile east of I-85. The atmosphere is about the same as Longhorn, but the steaks are better tasting and the rest of the food is pretty good as well. I love the dinner rolls. However, I'm sure you realize what a traffic jam it can be in that area, especially Fri/Sat night, so try to go early if possible.

Franks, a hole in the wall by the interstate, has excellent food and the absolute best prime rib around. Would they like a prime rib instead of a traditional steak? Don't tell many people though, it gets crowded enough on Friday and Saturday nights. Smiling

Village Cafe in Fayetteville has a decent steak, if I remember correctly, and my in-laws from Germany thought City Cafe in Fayetteville was pretty good too (unsure if steak is on the menu there).

Other than the places you have already named, I can't think of a steak house in PTC.

Too bad too. If only they wanted Mexican food, Tex-Mex or Chinese.

in my opinion. It's not cheap, but it's good food.

Here's the URL address to their entree menu.

He has named all I can think of in PTC also. Ruth Chris' in Atlanta is always a fine choice & if I remember correctly the fellow from PTC that recently died managed that before he opened the Brickyard in Newnan. I have not eaten at any of those rest. on the Square but I understand 12 E Washington is still a good choice.

Michael you are too short in your alternative list, you forgot Carribean Italian. & don't forget the GA Shrimp Co. I want a gyro from time to time.

Love Valentino's - though I haven't been in a while
I don't go to Georgia Shrimp though.
You want a good gyro, go to Chicago Eatery. That's good eating.

Go to GA Shrimp. Go
Forgot about Frank's, def. a good place.

Who has been to Newnan? Let's don't be afraid...Anyone been to Sullivan Road? I see places in College Park & East Point. Food blogs are better than the Old Maids that dominate here.

Go to Margo's in Griffin. Great Greek food. I think they even have Ouzo. Smiling I don't know what the street name is down there, but it's going into downtown Griffin. I think they are closed on Sundays. Call ahead, it's been awhile since I've been there, so their hours might have changed. It's a family run business.
