By: The Citizen
Landmark Christian School will be offering Heart Screens for Teens for middle and high school students Nov. 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Landmark’s Fairburn campus. This program provides affordable echocardiogram examinations for athletes in Georgia. The purpose of the echocardiogram is to determine whether or not the athlete has a condition known as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. HCM has been determined to be a cause of sudden cardiac arrest in otherwise healthy young athletes. To schedule an appointment, please contact Landmark School Nurse Becky Kimsey at 770-692-6782 or bkimsey@landmark-cs.org. The cost of the test is $58. The heart screen takes about 8 minutes and is painless. For more information on Heart Screen for Teens visit www.heartscreensforteens.com. login to post comments |
