We do more for the Environment and do it better than ANY OTHER COUNTRY.

If we bankrupt the US on a supposed warming that Man may or MAY NOT be responsible for then who is going to step up and take our place?

Russia- Nope they said that are doing nothing that hurts their economy

China- Nope They agreed with Russia

India-Nope they just backed out of the Copenhagen agreements.

If we are essentially alone in spending like mad and killing our industries and stopping our search for easy energy then alone we FAIL.

What happens DM when we can no longer AFFORD to buy energy from outside sources?

Remember the long gas lines in the 70's? Do you think the American citizens are going to care about the Environment then..?

No they will rape and pillage the Environment to get the energy to heat their homes and drive their cars.. That's simple human nature.

Change is inevitable. However change for changes sake is not a solution it is usually part of the problem.

The AGW scare is nothing but fear tactics used to pad the pockets of people who stand to benefit..

Follow the money.. The very people who scream the loudest about AGW are the very people who not only do not live as they preach but are getting RICH off of it..

Take windmills.. Do you know where they are being built?

Hint it's not America.. Do you know who has investments in those windmills?

The incandescent bulb was another one.. A company in Kentucky made the bulbs for most of America.. The replacement bulb the CFL is made in CHINA.. Why? Could we not have made them here.. Yes we could but why do we have to buy them from China?

You have to go back less than 1000 years to find a hotter time and a hotter climate. Of course you could go back on the evolutionary timeline that you cite, but it is a silly exercise when you can examine the farming homesteads on Greenland that date from the 1200's AD. Your attempt at the farcical looks farcical in an of itself.

Wedge, I am sorry that my attempt at the farcical did not meet your stringent guidelines for entertainment. In my opinion, the farming in Greenland deal is overrated, and was probably a result of shifting ocean currents more so than a global phenomenon.

I will agree with you that ocean currents could cause different conditions in the artic for a certain period of time. Just look at how the currents changed sea ice levels from 1996-2007. The Greenland farming lasted for over 350 years. It also coincides with the much larger Northern Hemisphere (if not the world) phenomenon known as the Medieval Warm Period. A change in climate for that long of a duration has a longer period and cause than ocean currents and the ANSO/ADO/PDO. That, dear carbon, a change fo 350 years of climate is not as climate change or a climate shift.

This was not a global phenomenon, and I beg forgiveness for not having the time to go back and find my references. How 'bout we put this global warming discussion off until August? This current weather is putting a chill on my resources.

thanks for saying those nice things about the carbonunit. I thoroughly enjoy your blogs too, always well written and presented. I like to imagine that the higher purpose of these blogs is to eventually demonstrate to all of us that we all have more in common than we have in differences, although the discussion of the differences provides better theater.

But do you remember Katrina.. That was absolute proof of AGW.. Remember we were all doomed.. That worst more powerful Hurricanes would now be our future?

It is clear that the Earth has cooled and warmed on cyclic events for thousands of years..

There is NO proof of AGW.. Jones admitted it. Since they can't explain it any other way.. they invented one.

The IPCC has been discredited.

The Mann Hockey stick has been discredited..

There is no consensus amoung Scientist..

He admits that they don't actually know that man is responsible for global warming. They just can't explain it any other way. So they assume it's correct.
