IPCC Gate part Deux or how screwed up can believers be

"The United Nations’ expert panel on climate change based claims about ice disappearing from the world’s mountain tops on a student’s dissertation and an article in a mountaineering magazine"London Telegraph

This new revelation comes right after the IPCC had to issue an apology earlier this month over inaccurate statements about global warming.

In its most recent report, it stated that observed reductions in mountain ice in the Andes, Alps and Africa was being caused by global warming, citing two papers as the source of the information.

What were the sources?

A popular climbing magizine which was based on anecdotal evidence from mountaineers about the changes they were witnessing on the mountainsides around them.

The other was a dissertation written by a geography student at the University of Berne in Switzerland that quoted interviews with mountain guides in the Alps.

"In the Fourth Assessment Report (AR4), issued in 2007 by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), scientists wrote that 40 percent of the Amazon rainforest in South America was endangered by global warming.

But that assertion was discredited this week when it emerged that the findings were based on numbers from a study by the World Wildlife Federation that had nothing to do with the issue of global warming -- and that was written by a freelance journalist and green activist."

The IPCC report, which is published every six years, is used by government’s worldwide to inform policy decisions that affect billons of people.

Our Government wants us spend Billions and possibly Trillons on flawed Science and faked reports. I think I will keep my checkbook closed on this one.
