!John Oxendine's office and him a joke!

suggarfoot's picture

An insurance co did something so horrendous, I filed my 1st complaint ever.

After sending in a several page complaint ...I was assured someone from his office would CALL me.

THAT NEVER HAPPENED!

One month later, I get a copy of the insurance company in question, reply and "I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the insurance company"!

I called yesturday and left the agent from his office a demand to call me. That never happened. I also left word I wanted to talk to Oxendine. I made it very plain I would not talk to one of his underlings!
Today I get a call from one of his goffers, telling me I'd need to talk to her...OR IT WOULD BE SEVERAL WEEKS BEFORE ...HE...COULD CALL ME. THAT HE IS A VERY BUSY MAN AND THERE ARE ..MILLIONS...OF PEOPLE IN GEORGIA.

I asssured her that all the millions were not trying to speak with Oxendine at this same time.

THAT IS WHAT WE TAXPAYERS GET FOR OUT MONEY! NOTHING...

I'M VOTING AGAINST ...EVERYONE AND EVERTHING...THING.. MIGHT BE A MORE APT DESCRIPTION...NEXT TIME!!!!!

I'm sorry you've had problems with Oxedine's office! I had a problem with insurance several years ago. It was taken care of in one day by Oxendine's office.
Since he's running for Gov. it would be in his best interest to respond quickly. Maybe some of the the birdshot hit him.

I just hung up from talking to....SOMEONE UNDER HIM.... that called me back! Again, I was told he was 'too busy' and that the person on the other end of the line was as high as I was gonna get! That I wasn't going to get to talk to him.

The gist of the problem, involves ALLSTATE. I have tried for months to rectify my complaint with them.

What happened is this. I called 3 different agencies shopping rates. When the 3rd one gave me the same as the rest, with me laying out to all 3 the same ground rules. That being insure my house for $250,000. and a $1,000. deductible.

I gave the last one the business, because I wasn't going to call around all day.

The policy arrived and I didn't sit down and read every page. I WILL SAY THAT WAS MY MISTAKE. TO NOT ASSUME I WAS DEALING WITH A POSSIBLE CROOK!
I knew what we agreed on, the premiums were in line so I didn't read the policy through n through.
In all past policies I've had, the deductible, amount of coverage etc was written on the 1st page. That SHOULD have been my clue something was wrong.

After the hail storm I pulled out my policy and almost died! The had written several pages back that they decided my house would only be worth $170,000 thousand and instead of a $1,000.00 deductible, they wrote in a $5,000.000 dollar deductible!

I called them n they kept saying..you signed it. They never argued or denied that they had reduced the value of my house or changed the deductible from what I asked, they just argued...'You signed it'...which is short for buyer be ware.

I agree now, I should have assumed them possible crooks, but when you are honest, it is human nature, you don't go around assuming everyone else is a crook, or lies. I should have read the policy.

But, after I canceled with them, I got insurance through Liberty Mutual, told them upfront I had a claim. Knowing that I had a recent claim, they still insured me for $250,000. with a $1,000 deductible n higher content value....all for $9.00 dollars more than All STATE trash policy.

Everyone from the claims adjuster who came out, to the person sending out the check. All agreed, they had never seen or heard of a $5,000. deductible either.

AllSTATE stood on, not that it was a garbage policy, but I signed it.

BUYER BE WARE.

ps...I'm gonna campaign for a baboon if he runs against Oxedine for not calling me back.

The office of Insurance Commissioner exists only to give the appearance of oversight. They do not regulate, solve disputes or eliminate the bad apples in the industry. The staffers push papers around and file reports and generally accomplish nothing because the goal of the leadership there is to not make waves and hope that nothing goes wrong and if it does, cover it up.

Now you see why Harold is running for Insurance Commissioner?

I mean Oxendine and his son are out hunting on a plantation owned by an insurance executive of a company his office is supposed to regulate? Come on. And he's going to be the next governor of Georgia - although if the Scott Brown mania stays alive long enough, Karen Handel will do a dramatic come from behind move and win. And then she'll lose to Roy Barnes.

"I mean Oxendine and his son are out hunting on a plantation owned by an insurance executive of a company his office is supposed to regulate? Come on."

I looked it up, you are right! The owner of the plantation is nothing less than the SAME one that caused an article in the AJC about the campaign contributions and paid trip to Mexico for Oxendine. Oxendine has learned nothing from that. He was hunting with the same man he is said to have returned the contributions to!

"Earlier this month, the AJC reported that records showed Yancey’s insurance companies made payments of $14,000 to each of 10 Alabama PACs in 2008. The PACs were all set up by a director of State Mutual and Admiral Life. The PACs then each made $12,000 donations to Oxendine’s campaign. Georgia law prohibits contributions from companies to officials who regulate them. It also limits the amount that one individual or business can contribute to a candidate in an election cycle. The current limit is $12,200 in a normal election."

"The day after the AJC story ran, Oxendine announced he would return the money, pending an investigation by the state Ethics Commission. The money accounted for more than 10 percent of all the money Oxendine’s campaign had raised by January of this year"

No wonder when I told an executive at ALLSTATE I was going to file a complaint, he practically laughed in my face!

Despite the fact we pay the taxes that fund Oxendine, and his staff's salaries, when we have a problem with an insurance company, there is no one to turn to for fair and impartial judgement! I wonder why he wasn't thrown out of his current position after the article May 31, 2009? By him being on this man's plantation hunting last week, he certainly hasn't mended his ways.

Our government is so sorry!

I knew way down deep they weren't going to do anything for me. I heard the appalling stories about the insurance companies being his main contributors. But, I thought what happened to me was very obvious. Obvious enough that they would have to do something.

It is kind of funny, he's too busy to help me, or even talk to me, and he and his kid are out on an insurance executive's plantation filling someone with buckshot. What a joke.

His underling really worked at putting me in my place. It made me so angry, but I'm sure that's what the head pencil pusher does when cornered.

I despise paying taxes to support people like that.

Again, thank you Robert.

It is a cottage industry unto its' own. There are a total of 267 employess in it! investigators salaries run from around $40,000 a year (plus insurance n liberal off days), to $83,000.

Business operations...several of those, whatever they are, $83,000 to $104,000.00.
The creative list of salaries and titles goes on and on...
The list of pencil pushers with overblown salaries for doing absolutly nothing...is staggering.

I'm thinking you are not getting to who you need to get to. There have been a couple of times I have had insurance problems, granted it was years ago, but I got letters signed by John Oxendine. Based on my experiences I'm surprised at the no response.

Of course, as you say, since he has a campaign to run right now, maybe he has lost that personal touch.

Send a certified letter or Fedex letter, and ask that he sign for it.

I got the letter 'signed by Johh Oxendine' too, when I brought that up to his underling...when she told me he was 'too busy' to be bothered with me...she didn't have an answer.

In fact silence...on the other end. Apparently he takes the glory for any case that is so obvious it cures itself.

My feeling is him and his staff rubber stamp the insurance agencies answers.

That was sure true here. When this underling got thru talking down to me..she stated she would get the records from the ALLSTATE and look into it.

My question then was...why didn't the so called investigator do that?
Her answer was, 'she isn't authorized to'...so I guess the deal is...they will screw you and rubber stamp the insurance company unless you throw a fit.

I still think that the outcome is written on the wall...this leopard has shown its spots...along with his office.

I know what the outcome is going to be...

YOU SIGNED THIS RIGHT? A CON...AND THEY WILL STAND BEHIND THE ###AUIIIR THAT TOOK MY MONEY KNOWING THEY HAD SCREWED ME ...OR A MORE DESPRIPTIVE TERM...STOLEN FROM ME..

I'M SO GLAD OXIDEINE HELPS ALLSTATE INSTEAD OF 63 YEAR OLD LITTLE OLD LADIES...HE MUST BE VERY PROUD OF HIMSELF AND STAFF!
