Want to talk about Race.. We can’t and here is why..

If you have seen the Video (Link Here for Video) it is more than obvious what they were doing..

Why are they being protected?

If this was a “David Duke” group formally known as the “Klan” outside a predominately black voting district then they would already be spending quality time with Bubba in jail.

I guess we can ask the Grand Wizard of the Klan Senator Robert Byrd about that..

You cannot protect one class of citizens while ignoring the rest of America.

Justice for all is more than a slogan.

The Justice Department told the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to drop dead ..LINK

Most here go to these sites anyway just to get two or more views on a situation. We can always talk about 'race'. . . this is America.

. . . we witnessed more Americans voting their choice without intimidation than ever before. (White and Black) That in itself is an accomplishment that we can be proud of. We're not perfect, but we're getting there.

You're right, this situation is worth watching. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Turning the Voting Rights Act on its head

The Section 11 (b) civil authority under which the Black Panthers lawsuit was filed is rarely used, since criminal acts of voter intimidation are usually referred for prosecution.
The first known 11 (b) case since the early days of the Voting Rights Act came in 1992, when the government filed suit against North Carolina Republicans and the campaign of then-Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.) for sending threatening postcards to 100,000 mostly black voters with misleading information about election laws.*
There were no more 11 (b) cases until 2005. Then, the Bush administration filed a voter intimidation lawsuit against black officials in Noxubee County, Miss., alleging systematic discrimination against white voters. It marked the first time the DOJ had used authority of the Voting Rights Act to allege voting discrimination by blacks against whites.
While the government won the Noxubee case and even Bush administration critics agree it had merit, they argue that pursing the case was a misuse of limited department resources. Critics also say the manner in which the Bush DOJ used section 11 (b) turned the spirit of the Voting Rights Act on its head. The 1965 act was passed amid incidents of beatings and harassment in the South by white mobs and Ku Klux Klan members against people demonstrating for black voting rights.
“Sadly, the only two [section 11 (b)] cases that have been brought by the [Bush] department have been on behalf of whites,” J. Gerald Hebert, a former acting chief of the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division, told Main Justice.
The Government Accountability Office, meantime, recently highlighted a Section 11 (b) voter intimidation case that the Bush DOJ chose not to pursue. The case involved allegations that officials in an unidentified state had intimidated black voters.
The GAO didn’t give further details, but Perez said in recent congressional testimony the division had opened an investigation into the incident cited in the report. He declined to elaborate, citing the ongoing probe.
Hebert said in order to pursue a voter intimidation case, there should be depositions from voters who felt intimidated and the actions should be shown to be part of a larger campaign.
The Black Panther complaint provided little evidence to support the government’s allegation that the group conducted a coordinated campaign to intimidate voters, Obama Department of Justice officials have told Republican lawmakers.
“Frankly, the Philadelphia case [against the New Black Panthers] was on shaky ground from the beginning and was largely, I think, filed by the previous administration for the new administration to have to clean up, putting them in a difficult position,” said Hebert, a critic of the Bush administration’s management of the Justice Department who has written extensively about Section 11(b) for his current employer, the Campaign Legal Center.

They won't be prosecuted because the ACORN/Obama administration approves of their behavior. It's perfectly normal, if your from Chicago.

This is the normal Chicago political machine- pure hate, intimidation, and thuggery.

Joe, I guess you see that many here are about to discuss race honestly - and you just can't stand it. Lindsey, what we need to understand and demand is equal justice for all, equal punishment for all not based on skin color - but actions/intent. I thought that is what you believed.. .and I still believe that. I think that we are all aware that the media and some individuals and organizations continue to try to separate Americans by feeding into this weakness of 'racism'. A small group in Fayetteville/PTC is about to come to grips with this reality - and deal with it as best they can. Habits are difficult to break, but recognizing a need to break the habit is a beginning.

These two night-stick wielding "security" people stated "You're gonna be ruled by the black man" where people came to vote, and the Obama administration REFUSES to prosecute them for voter intimidation.

Why are you defending it?

Justice has to be color blind.

So why have those two not been prosecuted?

. . .as was used when I was told N - - - -you can't eat here. Fortunately people of this ilk, black or white, are in the minority - and most Americans are trying to deal with the multitude of problems that we are confronted with - TOGETHER - as citizens.. . not as combatants based on 'race'. Won't you join your fellow citizens?

But the intimidation at a voting precinct is NOT! It is illegal, and the administration that you voted for and support has turned its back on the rule of law! I hate that those things that happened to you in the past happened, DM, but it is the past! Let it go or you will always be one of those that will NEVER learn!

What's really scary is the fact that DM actually believes what she writes....

Yes I do believe it - because I have seen people who distrust one another because of 'skin' color - begin to work together for a common good. The enemies of our country realize that this racism is a weakness that detracts from the greatness of the United States. We can still disagree regarding politics, economics, etc., etc., - but we must realize that we are all Americans - red, green, etc. - and once we show the world that 'color' is not a major issue with us - we will truly live up to the reputation that we have as 'world leaders'. Our military exhibits this goal . . but there are citizens within our cities who are waging a war within - a racial war. . .which some here seem to want to champion.

I was referring to your insinuation that voter intimidation is a form of free speech. It's amazing to me that someone could be so stupid as to believe that threatening people with billy clubs in front of a voting precinct on voting day is a form of free speach.

Now, I know that you will try to deny that was what you were referring to, but there it is in black and white.

What I saw. One black man walking by white people saying 'next year you're going to be ruled by a black man'. I did not see a 'stick' - nor did I see anyone cowering. This person was just as much a fool as those who said N- - - --you can't vote here. How do you know that someone did not report this idiot? How do you know that he was not apprehended and fined, etc? Why do you want to start racial fear based on this video? You are like so many 'plants' on the net to keep the citizens fearful of confronting and dealing with race relations. Are you having fun? I guess the young boy in line was accompanying his parents as they participated in the voting process. Great idea - learning about this important part of our democracy. No judge would consider what was seen in that video as 'voter intimidation'. The people on this blog are really very intelligent. You are the one who seems to have a problem. Trying to have Americans fear one another based on skin color is a losing goal. Get a life Joe.

The video clearly shows the two "guys" with nightsticks clearly attempting to intimidate voters.. What else was their purpose? To help little old ladys into the booth?

Don't let your ideology blind you on this one.. It is not defensable.. and the Justice dept either deciding not to prosecute or dragging their feet sends a message.. A BAD ONE.

This act of voter intimidation by members of a known hate group and the current administrations outright refusal to prosecute is indefensible.

Two black men, possibly Black Panthers, standing in front of a polling place in a PREDOMINTLY MINORITY PART OF PHILLY, while a 'white' man stood calmly by observing the interaction with a 'reporter' from ????. If no 'white' or 'black' person issued a complaint, saying they were intimidated - no law suit. Was a lawsuit filed in this instance? Is this the incident or the other where a number of Black Panthers were marching in front of a polling place where white persons were in line? Haven't we had this discussion before? Haiti, economy, car jacking, etc. seem to be of greater importance than this situation. I agree that we should remain aware that our voting rights are not hindered by intimidation.
