Final words, because I am doggoned if I feel like posting on a yellow journalism rag that has sunk to the levels of the Griffin papers. PTC, you WILL reap what you have sown. Shame on you for believing Beverly's hatchet jobs! Now we have a micro-managing mayor and a publication that will praise every delayed decision. Senoia is a really pretty little town these days, with a better handle on their money, and PTC is going downhill almost as quickly as FCBOE.

Submitted by skyspy on Fri, 12/04/2009 - 10:10am.

The taxpayers really don't need to read a newspaper to look at the voting record of a politician.

plink/plunk, boondoggle, and logjam all voted against the citizens of PTC every chance they got. We just returned the favor! It's that simple and their voting record and minutes of city council meetings are all a matter of public record. That is the same reason we sent pfeifer, dunn, and wells packing. It is the same reason that pothead horagan will be gone soon.

There is a new newspaper - The Fayette Daily News is coming out on Thursdays, being placed in 23,000 driveways, same distribution as The Citizen. In time it will grow as they consistently distribute each week. They are strictly focused on reporting the news. No editorial.

Submitted by MYTMITE on Fri, 12/04/2009 - 2:29am.

If you are not happy here then the correct and smart thing to do is move elsewhere, If The Citizen is not to your liking then the correct and smart thing to do is throw it in your trash can without even opening it. If you think another type paper is needed, the correct and smart thing to do would be to start your own. As for the reaping and sowing we did that with the reign of Harold and Cyndi. Would it have been smarter to believe the hatchet jobs from Cyndi and her high paid handlers? Hope you have a great life in Senoia--maybe Cyndi will locate there also and run for office-thus making it your ideal location.

If I didn’t know better, I would say this sounds like a very bitter losing candidate or campaign manager for the losing candidate disguised as a female....but in any event...as my subject line states...don’t let it hit ya…

Love it or leave it. These morons complain about tiny little problems and in fact, there arn't any, Fayette County has a slight leadership issue and the taxes are slightly higher than they should be. Peachtree City taxes are tiny. Leaders are irrelevant, except when it comes to rezoning and annexation and all they have to do is say NO

If you really believe that the next 4 years are going to be as bad or worse than the last 4 have been then you must be living in a closet. Over the last 4 years Harold Logsdon (AKA Otis Campbell), Cyndi Plunkett and the Boone clown have sold our beloved town down the river. They have held their hand out and been coddled by one special interest group after another, always siding against the wishes of their constituents, the Citizens of Peachtree City. From what I remember there was not one time that they sided with the Citizens. They spent OUR Money, fired OUR Employees and generally degraded OUR way of life. By the way if Senoia looks so good to you, its only a 10 minute Move!

Submitted by Spyglass on Wed, 12/02/2009 - 11:45am.

I believe, I disagreed with that one. Actually, the winner of the Mayors race proposed a tax increase, I believe. FWIW, I agreed with him.

As far as the road sale, have you been down said road? That said, it's a dead horse. Election is over.

Let's keep it positive, Mayors/Councils come and go and PTC is still a great place to live.

From my perspective, Pullias didn't seem interested in winning her run-off. Anyone else not receive any feedback from her via her website? I didn't and when a candidate provides a venue for feedback but fails to respond, you can't really be interested in courting the vote. At least not mine.

I hope Imker takes the closeness of his race as a sign. I have a fear that he may morph into a scion of the Boone/Logsdon/Plunkett way of business and I greatly look forward to being proven wrong.

At least we can now wash our hands of Plunkett and Walsh. Now if they'll just take Ramsey and Westmoreland with them.

More likely he will be a sharp stick in the eye of Dingy Don and some more time will be wasted feuding. As I said before, at least McMurrain and his power over certain council members is over. Mitchell's dumb proposal as well. The rookies won't tolerate a violation of the land use plan because they all ran on preserving it and frankly I don't think any of them have the slightest reason to rewrite the land use plan.

Budget cutting will be the priority for at least the first 2 years.

Well, glad that's over with. Hopefully we can return some sanity to City Hall. I'm hopeful come January we don't get any hand wringing comments coming from any new council members such as:

While I initially objected to the special use permit, I have watched, listened, asked questions and observed, and I now believe that, like it or not, this is the best possible option.

Good Luck to all, we'll be watching.

Deltamama is a crying political hack. Oh yeah, what we needed was Cindy Plunkett. Like the city was doing anything but declining under Logsdon, Boone and Plunkett. Give us a break!

Congratulation to Haddix, Learnard and Imker! Don't let the cry babies influence your decisions to do the right things.

PTC is screwed now. Haddix is the absolute WRONG person for the job and the WRONG person for PTC. I am sick that he won. Cal Beverly and Steve Brown did what the mainstream media did for Obama. Way to go with being fair and balanced.

Thank you for keeping us apprised during this last year. In spite of those on this site who castigated you for posting here there were and are many of us who appreciated it. I guess the final vote proved that. Please continue to keep us informed as we head toward the new year. Let's hope that those currently serving on council do not take this last opportunity to do further damage to our city. Let their last acts be those that will leave us feeling that they at the end did what was best for the city. That would be a legacy they could be proud of---time will tell.

Again, thank you for caring about our community and the voters. I am looking forward to you working together with the council to do what is right for our city. Please make us proud---and your denigrators wrong.

Don is the MAN!! Don is a Leader and will work for the people of PTC!!

These 2 new virtually unknown candidates concern me. They can write and speak anything they want to get elected just like the one term wonders Plunkett and Logsdon. The real test will be their voting records!!

How nice that you fell in line lock step with Cal and Steve Brown. You reap what you sow. Unfortunately, we'll all have to live with the ignorance, half truths and out and out lies you were told. Such a shame. My favorite new Mayor idea - you can't build a business here, you need to go into an existing empty structure. Sounds good on the surface. Now translate that to a new home. You can't move here and build - you have to move into an existing empty home. What do you do? Right - you build outside of PTC! And that's what businesses will do. They'll still build, only in our backyard. We'll get all the headaches and none of the benefits. Welcome to your igorance PTC!

I can live with the results. We have 2 new women on council, a new mayor who is definitely nuts and and a control freak, but manageable by the 2 new ladies and Eric (I won't advertise) Imker.

I'll give you 12:1 odds that Doug won't say anything important for the next 2 years - before he gets defeated by Scott Rowland. Wanna bet?

all, you would have all the important people(movers and shakers) in PTC behind you? By, the way I have been driving by the intersection of 74/54 every 20 minutes since the results were in last night and have not seen you there fulfilling your promise. You have to wait until you are elected to not follow through on promises, I know you know that.

I am not in the group of mainstream swells who run PTC - or think they do. Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Kiwanis, Cattleman's Ball, Arts Council, Gathering Place, Dog Park - all strangers to me. Besides if I did run someone would have saved all my postings and used them to show I was unstable. I'm not, nor are unstable people unwelcome in city hall - obviously. Just the same, I have nothing to offer as a candidate and even less as a councilperson. I'd rather just make fun of people.

So why is the county web site reporting 100% of the precincts reporting?

John Munford's picture
Submitted by John Munford on Tue, 12/01/2009 - 8:07pm.

It's 100 pct at the top line because the computer has recorded absentee votes from all 12 precincts.

If you look at each race under the "polling" column you will see it lists the number of precincts (12) and under that the number of precincts reporting. That's what you should follow.

The real reason is this year the state required even the absentee votes to be tied to the precinct from which they would have been cast in. Previously all absentee votes were lumped together as a separate "precinct."
