Adele D. Spencer, 80, Fayetteville, died Oct. 30. 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earl Spencer, and two brothers. She was a longtime parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Gabriel, and a member of the Golden Threads of St. Gabriel Friends and Neighbors. She served as a volunteer in the Ladies Auxiliary at Piedmont-Fayette Hospital since its beginning.

Services were at the Catholic Church of Saint Gabriel with the Rev. Father Michael McWhorter officiating. Survivors include sons Charles D. and Celida Spencer, Jackson, and K. Michael and Nancy Spencer, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Robin and Mike Holt, Duluth, Erin and Andy Yocom, Sharpsburg, and Rachel Spencer and Sarah Spencer, both of Fayetteville; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bernice and John Hardin, Mountain View, Ariz. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
