David A. Smith, 85, Peachtree City, died Oct. 19, 2009. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Cascade Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Peachtree City First Baptist Church. He was retired from Lockheed as an engineer. He had volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Fayette County for over 20 years. Services were at the Peachtree City First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Steve Bingham and the Rev. Randall Johnson officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Virginia Smith, Peachtree City; children, Eileen Lafolla, Kennesaw, Lynn and Roger Jackson, Duluth, and David and Pat Smith, Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to the Fayette Senior Services, Meals on Wheels, 4 Center Dr., Fayetteville, GA 30214. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
