They are getting the information from the phone taps Bush put in!!!

They don't need the e-mails anymore!!

Also, they attend the "tea party and birthers and national health care shouts" and simply record those!

Bush....tea parties.....blah, blah, blah. Big old crybaby.

You just can't fathom how scared we are to be reported. What is he going to do? Soak us for more taxes to pay "entitlements" for more deadbeats? That's coming anyway. Even though he said he wouldn't.

Tip for just you Bonker$....take a little blue pill and tune in to FOX real quick. Jane Skinner is looking hot today.....

Mainstream,Sniffles,Diva,JeffC why don't you all share your opinions these days like you did before the election? I know why you disappeared(it's easier than admitting that the normal people were right all along about Obama), but I would really like to see how you defend this.

I believe that the degree someone feels enraged about this and that their privacy is being invaded, is in direct correlation to how that person feels towards the actual political party that's in control. And since I pretty much trust what the Dem's are doing, I don't feel threatened by having a "disinformation czar" attempting to counter what the idiot Repub's, Faux News and Drudge keep churning out to their followers. I think this is also why so many of us liberals have been quiet on the blogs, because we are happy with the outcome of the election, trust Obama to do what is right and we fought long and hard to rid the White House of sleazoid Republican's...so now, we're just enjoying life... I just got back from chilling on the beach, drinking Corona's and workin' on my tan...life is good.

I enjoyed reading your teen story (Dawn's too) and find that although I don't agree with many on here about politics and their fundie religions, I do find quite a bit of other topics I can relate to.

Wow. So now you're admitting that you are nothing but a disingenuous, hypocritical, mouth-breathing, partisan lackey who can't take a personal stand on principle? No need, we already knew that....

I feel the same way, Main. Most of us are pretty solid in our own political leanings and are not about to change the oppositions point of view. So, why waste so much time (and stomach acid) to such negative conversations? There's so much more to talk about and, yes, we may even find some common ground.

Case in point...I was in total agreement with you a few months ago on the beauty pagent issue. And, during another conversation, we found that we would have been burned at the same stake regarding religion. I must; however, disagree with you on the drinking of Corona - if I'm going to drink beer (not often) make mine a Michelob. Actually, I prefer Reisling. Smiling

Being on this blog for several years has really been a lesson for me regarding human nature and it has been so refreshing to see that not everyone follows the same religious or political path. If we open our minds to one another, there's usually something we can find common ground on and that is how we can build bridges between all of us...through commonality.

Shall we start our own coven? Laughing out loud LOL

I couldn't have said it better myself Dawn, and it applies to religion also. I do enjoy reading others views on the subjects though.

Yes Main, life is good in spite of all the political happenings, but chilling out on the beach with a cold one is something I totally relate to. We're planning an island trip ourselves, and it can't happen fast enough for me.

Nah, Hey, the normal people, the majority of who voted for and elected Obama, were right and they still are. The health care reform bill is starting to look like something I can support. My blue dog Dems are coming through for me again.

As to blogging, it's just that the Republican party has become so fringe that it's too weird to argue with. Here's an article from RenewAmerica:

Obama's 'Advance Care Planning': code words for euthanasia

"Let us not forget what happened just prior to implementation of the Nazis' "Final Solution." They established a policy of direct medical killing. They arranged the means through medical channels whereby their medical decisions were carried out by doctors and their assistants. They called their program euthanasia."

"If ObamaCare is passed, the same insidious protocols — "Advance Care Planning" — will be set into place to cut the cost of his massive government healthcare program. Our senior citizens will receive mandated appointments for counseling that will determine if they receive minimal medical treatment or are told to go home and die. They will be offered assistance and instructions on how to take their own lives."

"Advance Care Planning is code words for a mandated medical death sentence."

Yesterday I heard some right wing talk radio guy (redundant, I know) saying the new health care reform legislation would require mandatory sex change operations in some cases.

The part of the right not fringing on health care is entertaining us with the birther scam. Here's Republican spokesman Michael Savage:

Michael Savage Interviews Orly Taitz - Obama Birth Certificate

The head of the Party weighs in:

Rush Limbaugh pummels Obama on birth certificate

Alan Keyes, who enjoys wide spread local support puts in his silly two cents worth:

Alan Keyes stokes Obama birth certificate controversy

Gordon Liddy manages to deny evidence presented right to his hands in a very amusing piece:

Liddy claims Obama is an "illegal alien" born in Kenya

And before you say these clips aren't representative of the Republican Party today here's a dozen or so Republican Reps including Georgia's own Rep Tom Price making idiots of themselves:

Capitol Hill Doesn't know if Obama is a Natural Born Citizen

They either believe it or recognize that they mustn't offend such a large and influential part of their political party.

Here's a link to the John Birch Society.

Use their little search box: the birth certificate, health care reform, the Federal Reserve Bank... it's all there. Anything there that's not mainstream Republican thought today?

The ironically funny thing about all this is that because the right only listens to itself and reads it's own publications they've convinced themselves that there is a growing grassroots support for their positions.

I'm just following the first rule of politics: when the opposition is destroying itself, shut up and stay out of the way.

Actually, I was referring to the bloggers who argue with a little common sense as the normal people, not the radio talk folks or others. I don't listen to them, I think they may be a bit extreme, although I might agree with them on some of what they say.

Wow. Maybe there is hope for you JeffC. You said: "The health care reform bill is starting to look like something I can support. My blue dog Dems are coming through for me again." The problem is- you are just back peddling and it's ugly to see. You fancy yourself a "Blue Dog" democrat? You are smart enough to understand that you are saying Obama (whom you supported for President) has a policy to the left of you ... and that you currently do not support as he submitted it. And yet, you are so entrenched and so enamored with the chosen one that you defend his policy (which the 'Blue Dogs' are changing so that it is " ...starting to look like something I (you) can support." by going on to chant the mantra by quoting bloggers (not Republican Political leaders) and talk show hosts to say the conservatives are "destroying themselves". Really JeffC? What about Babs "Call me Senator" Boxer that says (you) others opposed to this massive spending fiasco and proposed expansion is simply "... a diversion by the people who, frankly, want to hurt President Obama."

So Jeff, why do you want to hurt the man you are so proud to have feverishly supported him?

Oh, and then we have Lear Jet Pelosi saying that the people showing up to protest government health care "carrying swastikas." Is yours a hidden tattoo JeffC?

Anyway, you just keep quoting all of the bloggers and Michael Savages you wish, defend the chosen one and reminisce in the malaise of the carter days, and see who self destructs in 2010.

Meanwhile, the death rate is accelerating in Afghanistan and Iraq, unemployment is at an all time high, the deficit is the highest in history, and the government is growing at the fastest rate in history and Obama's minions are waking up to the reality that he is a radical socialist with an agenda that is killing the American dream.

You can keep the change JeffC. Sweet dreams.

I remember it like it was just yesterday these guys were calling for Bush's EXECUTION as a War Criminal, A traitor, A Murderer and a lot worse.. but I guess Jeff thought that was OK.. after all it was in vogue to hate Bush then...

According to Barack Obama -

“The 'stimulus' plan was divided into three parts. One-third of the money has gone to tax relief for families and small businesses. One-third of the money is cutting people’s taxes. . . . Another third of the money in the Recovery Act has been for emergency relief that is helping folks who’ve borne the brunt of this recession. . . . So that’s the second half. First half, tax relief. Second half, support for individuals, small businesses, and states that had fallen on hard times. The last third of the Recovery Act--and that’s what we’re going to talk about here today--is for investments . . .”--Barack Obama, Aug. 5

These are the incomprehensible musings of the President of the United States without his teleprompter.

What an idiot.

President Obama’s health policy is a little to the left of me and my Blue Dogs are correcting it to my satisfaction. I did support him and still do and frankly I could not care less what Barbara Boxer or Nancy Pelosi say. Read my previous posts and you’ll find that I am not a Pelosi fan. The only thing I can say about her that I like is that she is vastly superior to whomever the Republicans would put up if they were in control. Faint praise indeed, I know. I find their comments just as silly as your attribution of them to my position.

As to the bloggers and talk show host, I’m just quoting the most influential Republican leaders. They all are vastly more influential in the Party than anybody else. If you can name anyone more powerful in the Party, with more influence or more constructive in defining the Party’s positions please let me know and I’ll start quoting them.

2010? I expect the Dems to lose a few seats as would be normal in an off year election. I believe that we can work with the 10% of the Republicans in Congress who will be relevant.

The rest... all left over problems from Bush. Sorry Obama hasn’t fixed everything in his first 7 months. I never expected that he would. That Messiah thing, which it would take to have done so, is a Republican thing.

Oh and sorry JEFF you CAN NOT BLAME.. this mess on BUSH anymore.. This is Obama's he owns it now.. as do the Democrats.. That old song has worn out it's appeal.. But do try to remember Bush never spent a dime that the Democrat controlled Congress did not approve..
Bush just signed the checks that Congress wrote.. The sad part is YOU KNOW THIS ALREADY and are still just a party shrill..Sad

Lighten up!!!

America took a big step forward today when the U.S. Senate confirmed a "wise Latina" to be a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

President Obama did the right thing in nominating Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. The U.S. Senate did the right thing in confirming her nomination. Conservative Republicans were a national embarrassment in their opposition.

President Obama is hardly a "radical socialist" as claimed. Only the wingnuts of the conservative movement would characterize him this way.

President Obama is a moderate liberal Democrat who is trying to lead America into the 21st Century. It is a difficult journey but he must be successful.

Sotomayor said her now-famous remark that she would hope a “wise Latina’’ would make better decisions because of her life experiences than a white male was a regrettable “rhetorical flourish that fell flat,’’ and does not reflect her views.

“I want to state upfront, unequivocally and without doubt, I do not believe that any ethnic, racial, or gender group has an advantage in sound judging,’’ she said. “I do believe that every person has an equal opportunity to be a good and wise judge regardless of their background or life experiences.’’

We will see if she was sincere in her word.

National embarrassment if you vote "NO"? I don't think so.---Is one supposed to ignore concerns with her 2d Amendment waffles and just vote "Aye" in lockstep? I don't think there was any question about her ultimate confirmation but to vilify some Senators who voted their belief is not productive.

Gee, who wudda thunk that spending money that you don't have would actually get us out of the deficit? President Obama, that's who!

Seventy-one percent (71%) of U.S. voters say President Obama’s policies have increased the size of the federal deficit, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Only five percent (5%) say the president’s policies have cut the deficit, and 10% say they have had no impact. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure.

Eighty percent (80%) of investors say Obama’s policies have driven up the deficit, a view shared by just 57% of non-investors.
