On The Border

Anybody know why we are subjected to On The Border ads on the front page when they closed down way back when and the closest one is 35 miles away???

LaHacienda next to Hanger 74 is really good. They make their guac fresh right next to your table. I usually get their quesadillas or the fajitas.

Do they still have that solo guitarist playing there? I still can't get his rendition of "Please come to Boston" outta my head......"Please come to Boston for the springtime...I'm moving in with some friends and they've got lots of rooooooom."

They need to hire a salsa band instead.

you appear to be a poor mood today. Maybe tomorrow will be better for you.

"..you appear to be a poor mood today"

No different than usual Evil

I just have strong opinions regarding the lack of decent restaurants in Fayette County.

I dunno about the guitarist. Last time I was there they had a marachi band that went around from table to table. They were pretty neat. Usually, I don't like live music at restaurants at all.

...the answer to your question but I sure do miss "On the Border" for decent Carne Asada and Chile Rellenos. Our replacement for Mexi food, El Repulsive, is horrid.

We didn't like El Reposo either. And just in case you wanted two of then to not go to, there's another one now in Togwatee Village, across from the Hospital! Really liked On The Border's Chips & Dip and their Tortilla Soup w/Chicken. Oh for the days of the old La Fiesta on Huddleston Road!

"...there's another one now in Togwatee Village, across from the Hospital!"

Perfect location for their 2nd locale, just in case anyone gets sick. We had two out-of-town guests get sick after we took them to dinner at their original location.

Oh, and when we went there, they had whited out all their margarita prices on the menu so folks couldn't see how much a marg was. When we asked for prices, our server acted a bit pissy with us for asking. And when we asked why they don't put any spices in their meats (chix/beef) they've always replied, "because southerners don't like spicey food."

I give up. We'll keep heading up to Atlanta for a decent meal.

Just an interesting thought.. El Reposo and the one in Togwatee Village do have the same owners. I haven't eaten at either one, yet. Going to tonight, though!
