Whittinghill will lead conference at Woolsey

Dr. Al Whittinghill, revivalist, will speak at a Change My Heart Conference Sunday, May 3 through Wednesday, May 6 at Woolsey Baptist Church, 115 Hampton Road in Fayetteville. Service times are Sunday at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Services on Monday through Wednesday will be at 7 p.m.

Whittinghill, a native of North Carolina, lives in Woodstock with his wife, the former Mary Madeline St. John. They belong to First Baptist Church there and are the parents of five grown children.

Whittinghill is a 1970 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. degree in political science.

He received the call into the ministry in 1974 and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1974-1977, receiving the master of divinity degree. In 1978, he was ordained and , in 1998, received an honorary doctor of divinity degree.

Whittinghill began preaching while in seminary. He led a weekly street ministry to the inner-city of Fort Worth and a campus ministry of one-to-one personal evangelism and discipleship.

After he completed seminary in 1977, he received an invitation to join Precept Ministries, a non-denominational Bible study and conference center in Chattanooga, Tenn. While there, he was co-teacher with Kay Arthur.

In 1984, he was called to join Ambassadors for Christ International (AFCI). He works from its Atlanta office.

His preaching/teaching ministry is worldwide. He preaches in local churches in many denominations in the U.S. and other countries. For over 25 years, his ministry of preaching and teaching has carried him throughout the USA, Europe, India, Canada, Africa, Asia, Australia, the Pacific nations, and countries behind the former Iron Curtain.
