FayCOG meeting tonight

Fayette Citizens for Open Government

FayCOG meeting is tonight, Jan. 13th at 7pm at the Whitewater Creek Amenities Center

2009 is only a few days old and already strange things are happening in Fayette County.

SCHO0L BOARD:

1. They have the gall to ask teachers and staff to voluntarily give up the cost of living raises they just received.

2. They have requested the Tax Commissioner to reissue tax bills to collect the $3.5 million the state may not fund from the Taxpayer Relief Act. I understand that would add approximately $250 to the tax bill of every household in Fayette County.

SHERIFF"S DEPARTMENT:

1. On Friday, January 2, 2009, Wayne Hannah, the new sheriff, held a departmental meeting. It is reported that the new sheriff informed everyone that when they report for work on Monday, they would find out if they had a job or not. For those that have a job, they would find out what that job would be, and those that did not have a job would be terminated.

2. The new sheriff reassigned Barry Babb (fellow candidate of Sheriff in 2008) to a lesser desirable job as supervisor of the jail.

3. THE NEW SHERIFF PROMOTED HIS WIFE TO THE RANK OF CAPTAIN!!!!

COUNTY COMMISSION:

The only meeting showing for January was the regular meeting for Thursday, January 8th at 7:00 PM. There was nothing listed for the normal monthly work shop usually held the first Monday of each month at 3:00 PM. After research, the Commissioners held the monthly workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 6th at 5pm and canceled the regular meeting. Who knew?

The above information just adds fuel to the fire for FayCOG to work with. They keep kicking the door open wider and wider. Fayette County needs OPEN and HONEST Government. Please attend this meeting.

Harold Bost is the George Soros of Fayette County. Thinks he has big bucks and great ideas.

Please Harold. After you spanked us with that special election 3 months in to your term, don't lecture anyone about fiscal responsibility.

Why don't you dip deep into your coffers and pay us back ?

Nice public notice of your meeting FayCOG. Good example to set for our local governments.

I predict y'all will last about 6 months. Hope your internal communications are better than your public ones.

The county commissioners, I read, are going to publish audio of their meetings. Will U folks do the same? You know, in the interest of fairness and openness and all.

I have heard Mr. Simmons is a part of your Whitewater, er, open government group. The picking on Sheriff Hannah including the unsubstantiated rumor about his wife wouldn't constitute SOUR GRAPES would it?

Get a life folks. You could do a lot of good if you could get the political bent away from your situational outrage.

We voted some of you fools out the first time around and this year we said no to you again.

Some of the members of faycog brought us our ugly strip mall the pavillion, cluster homes and apartments. Thanks for the high density housing and the ugly strip mall that attracts the thugs from clayco.

Just to set the record straight. The current Sheriff did not promote his wife, the former Sheriff did just as he was leaving office. It could be that she deserved the promotion but the perception is poor. The real question is why wouldn't there be a law against relatives working within the same department, especially in law enforcement. Why would there not be a law against relatives working as subordinates to other relatives. In this case husband and wife. Does it seem right to you? Would they tolerate this in private industry, you be the judge.

Why weren't you sounding the alarms after your organizer Harold Boast stiffed the taxpayers for a $100K with a special election when he vacated his county commission seat shortly after being elected. That clown moved to Florida for what reason? Was it really because of his sick wife or was it for tax purposes after selling his business off? Just a WAG but why is he now back trying to hold everyone else accountable after bilking We The People?

I can still hear him mumbling the words: "If I don't win this election by 70% I'm going to take it as a personal insult".

NO Thanks Bost, Dunn and company. We enjoyed enough of your own back room shennanigs as it is.

Must we ressurect the list of unethical gumament rule again?

I thinks Blago would fit well into your little organization.

I've experienced enough lip service from politicians and has-beens to last me a long, long time.

What tis the point in swapping out one bad guy for another? Puzzled
