Stop The Brainwashing of our Youth!

My Student is completing college applications this month, and a few of the schools we are applying have professors listed on the Petition Supporting Ayers. We are not eager to put our precious child or our monies into any of these colleges/universities that have professors that endorse/support Ayers or his kind. "We are paying" for our children’s education and I can assure you our hard earned monies will not go to a university where one of these radicals could end up with our child in their classroom to try to brainwash, intimidate, or issue failing grades!!. I am scanning the list of colleges with Ayers endorsements and my family will know which ones to stay clear of. Contact your colleges and demand they stand up for our children, demand they remove these “so-called” educators”, and demand they stand up for America by denouncing these radicals with their troubling behaviors, beliefs and past! DITTOS: read below. Money Does Talk! America is Not for Sale to Radicals or Socialism!
******************
I copied this statement below on a political site earlier today: Ladies and Gentleman, please contact the Universities and Colleges in which these educators have signed on behalf of an domestic terrorist. My family and I make very generous donations to the University of Georgia and Georgia Southern University. We are demanding that these two institutions issue a statement condemning the signing of this petition by their staff and are requesting that the educators that signed this petition either resign or issue a statement rescinding their original stance. These educators may have the right to free speech but I as a donor have the right to withhold my contributions if I deem that the college and its staff is behaving in reckless manner. I encourage everyone to contact the colleges and demand the same. Stand up for America and our children!

and the truth shall make you sick. Education, by definition, exposes one to things they have not been exposed to previously. If YOUR idea of education is to only parrot what you have already infused into your child's brain, then there is little hope that we, as a nation, will ever progress, let alone, hold our own. Support who you like, but understand that you are dooming your children to lives of stagnation and ignorance.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (F.I.R.E.) is often looked upon as a conservative group as some of their best known cases have involved the rights of conservative or religious students or faculty to express themselves.

But that same organization also defended Ward Churchill's right to make a public ass of himself, and I believe they were right to do so.

Consider this quote from J.S. Mill's On Liberty.

"The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error."

I do not deny that a form of brainwashing takes place on many campuses and in classrooms. In fact, I have documented it elsewhere.

The irony is that what you seem to endorse, whether you realize it or not, is the same thing. A college or university can thrive as a place where education--not indoctrination--takes place only if there is the sort of academic freedom and intellectual liberty that permits students and faculty to think and speak according to their own lights, and to do so without fear of censure or disciplinary measures. Only this can permit a free marketplace of ideas where perceived falsehoods are challenged in fair and rational debate rather than silenced through political power.

your witch hunt and scram. There's plenty of other parents who will donate and appreciate the fact that narrow-minded parents like you and your offspring will NOT be a part of these learning institutions. There are plenty of colleges, like Atlanta Christian College for example, where you can send your kids. ACC got rid of probably the only progressive minded professor they had so I'm sure the college is "pure" enough for someone like you and your kids now.

Besides, that means less competition for OUR KIDS, if yours aren't in the running any longer. Good riddance.

I agree with your comments about Atlanta Christian College. What a great loss for them!!
I hope they stay where they are. Fayette and Coweta doesn't need a "christian" college like that.
