Niccole's letter

After Nicole’s letter and the web sites others have offered in the paper, this is what I’ve found so far, and where I found it.

For everyone I will give those web sites and the links on those pages I think explain Nicole’s letter.

The 1st one wasn’t mentioned in her letter, but I want to put it out there too.

1. http://www.fayetteclerk.com/ gives you Fayette County Clerk,

2. On the left hand side under Main Menu, click on Property Index Search

3. In the middle of the page is click to accept the disclaimer and proceed to the website

you must click on this, or you aren’t going anywhere

4. The next page you get , on the left hand side click on Simple

5. On the page that then comes up you will see on the left, Firm/Last Name

In the box type in …Board of Education….

6. Then click on search at the bottom

7. What comes up next is your hits

8. Put a check in the box where it says select next to you’re the 1st 10 hits that say Board of Education

9. Then hit …display

10. Go to the bottom of the list and put a check in the box next to SEARCH NAME: BOARD OF EDUCATION and FIRST GRANTEE: TCG HOLDINGS, INC.

What you will find is where the BOE sold land to TCG holdings while Ms Smith was on the board.

To find out who is TGL holdings

Go to 1. http://www.sos.ga.gov/corporations/

2. On the right hand side down about middle ways, you will see Corporations Search

3. Click on it

4. Here type in TCG holdings, llc

5. Then click….half way down the page you will see

Registered agent ……look at the name

please go to some of the web sites that are provided above and below, and do a little digging before you vote. I did, and as I taxpayer I feel very used. I am disgusted and hope every one does a little homework of their own.

All you have to do is go to those web sites and connect the dots.

Now that you have the hang of it , go back to the 1st web site and type in something different

Type in..... Fayette county board of education......, you will come up with a long list and on it is Lester family limited partnership, that is where they bought the land from the Lester family for the school complex back in fall of 2002.

Go further down and you will see where the school board sold the extra land and didn’t put a high school on the same piece of property.

They sold the excess land to a company called…LESTER ROAD LLC…IN NO WAY TO BE CONFUSED WITH Lester family llc.

If you do the same dittie at the ..other… web site…you can find …some… of the owners and people involved with this company.

I think this same group then put in a sub division on this land. In my mind, this left no where for the high school that people thought was going in there.

So…now

Go back …AGAIN.. And this time in the search box put Fayette county school district
If you don’t put it in this way, you won’t find it.

Anyway you will find where the BOE in 2007 bought 30 acres to build a new high school down the road from the elementary and middle schools. Now we all know that didn’t need 30 acres, so once it is built, are there any guesses who might buy the extra land.

To me, this seems to be a self fulfilling prophecy, build the schools, and developers will fill them up. But, how does that help the original taxpayers? It would seem to me, that we are paying to overcrowd our county and give the developers tools to sell property.. But, what do we get out of it?

some of the LLCs you come up with and go to

1. www.fayettecountyga.gov

2. then go to tax assessor office

3. click on Maps & property records

4. next screen put a check mark in I have read and accept disclaimers

5. click on accept and launch map viewer

6. put in for example only ARC enterprises under last name search and then look at all the property around Rivers elementary and the by pass etc that some of these companies own.

Then, think if houses were put on 1 acre lots on these vast holding of land by some of these developers, would it really help the overcrowding? in any of the schools the taxpayers children are going to? What has the taxpayer gained by any of this?

We already know that we are under the ratio in some of the schools for the Feds to fund us. What will happen next spring when the extra schools are on line and these developers...don't build the houses, or intice others to move in? what will we do? Will we close another school? These are just a few things we all need to think about?

Hey Suggarfoot,
Please explain further, let me see if I have got this straight.
My tax money is being spent to benefit Terri Smith and her husband?
Is that what you are saying?
So the School Board buys land and then turns around and sells off acreage at a discount price to Terri Smith's husband or friends is that what you are saying?
What can we do? Is Smola involved in this? How about other board members? So these people are using their positions to take my money for their benefit. So now they want more money through the splost to have pet projects?
People should know this if all of this is true, is the Citizen on top of this?

I gave that as an.. example... because someone said this in the paper a while back
.
"My name is Chip Smith. I can use my name because I have no reason to hide. Mr. Clark & I were partners in TCG Holdings which was a land development company.

TCG Holdings never sold any land to the BOE. I encourage anyone who believes otherwise to check it out. In fact, my wife has already gathered titles that prove that no business or partnership in which I have ever been involved has ever sold land to the BOE. Terri excuses herself from Executive Sessions where possible conflicts of interest may exist and only returns once it has been determined that none exists by the rest of the Board."

While this is a true statement, they never sold land to the BOE, they did ..buy.. land from the BOE.

This was used as an example..on how to use both sites and see who the BOE is doing bussiness with.

Look up all the rest, and come away with your own conclusions.

that after going to the sites, looking at the number of acres that have been bought 130 here 30 there, etc, and then the excess sold to developers, I do agree with Nicole.

It looks like they had plenty of land to build the high school next to the elementary and middle. Everyone can look and draw their own conclusions. The excess was sold to Lester Road llc...which is a development company. That left them without land next to them for a high school. They then went down the road and bought 30 more acres, again, more than they needed for 1 school. Who will buy the excess? Why did they save 12 acres at the other place, but earmark it for a pool?

Everyone needs to read, and reread Nicole's letter, then research those sites and come up with your own ideas as to why it appears they are playing musical chairs with the land around the schools.

These sites give me and others the tools to draw our own conclusions. That is only fair to have as much info in front of you as you can to form your own ideas. I much rather have a choice of seeing everything and then making up my own mind than taking the word of others. That is why I put this out there. Only to help everyone have more tools to make up their minds what they think.
