RNC raising money for Gustavus

Night before last I heard Laura and Cindy saying they had changed hats and were simply going to raise money for those in need in NOLA, and forget politics!

Twelve hours later, it was announced that the RNC convention would proceed full steam, even though there were four million people on the road and not at their homes in the areas where the Hurricane hit. And several million without
power, sewer and water, and no clean up done.

My question is this:
How much money did they raise in that twelve hours and at what hour that night did they change the hats back again! Will they issue everyone a $2000 credit card?

Do they think we are sixth graders? Yes!

I sent my dollar right in to St. Paul while Laura Bush was still talking.
I want it back today however. I don't think it will get down there!

The great feelings that the Bush crowd has as far as giving money to victims is well known.

...maybe you saw this on the Daily Show last night.

(I like the Republican guy on the video who comments on how ridiculous it is that the RNC is being scaled back just because some people on the Gulf Coast "are getting rained on." Ahhh yes, compassionate conservatism at its best.)

While the Republican leadership races to the Gulf Coast to show their empathy, their delegates are left abandoned in the Xcel Center:

DOING THEIR PART...

Bonkers...and maybe you saw this too:

"As residents of New Orleans were fleeing Hurricane Gustav, top Republican party officials donned pink boas and swigged vodka shots at a wild whirl of corporate and lobbyist-paid parties this weekend in Minneapolis-St. Paul...lobbyists for the National Rifle Association, Lockheed Martin and the American Trucking Association put on a raucus six-hour party at a downtown bar featuring music by the band "Hookers and Blow." There was no evidence of any actual prostitutes or cocaine."

Republicans, the party of traditional family values. Really?

WHAT HURRICANE? LOBBYISTS, GOP PARTY ON
