Jewell Smith Gillespie, 90, Fayetteville, died Aug. 2, 2008. She was born Feb. 2, 1918 in Coweta County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Llewellwyn and Lora Bomar Smith, and her husband, John Merlin Gillespie. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with Minister Lester Shell and the Rev. John Riley officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include a son, Kenneth and Pat Gillespie, Newnan; a daughter, Nadine and Ken Schwartz, Forsyth; grandchildren, Cindy and Greg Ivey, Mandy Gillespie, Darlene and David Morris, and Gary Schwartz, and ten great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be given to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Rd., Union City, GA 30291. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
