Last April, I posted a little exercise showing the per mile cost of gasoline ranging from $3 to $4 a gallon. Since we now at $4 gallon here's a chart depicting a $4 to $5 range.

15 $0.27 $0.30 $0.33
17 $0.24 $0.26 $0.29
20 $0.20 $0.23 $0.25
22 $0.18 $0.20 $0.23
25 $0.16 $0.18 $0.20
27 $0.15 $0.17 $0.19
30 $0.13 $0.15 $0.17
32 $0.13 $0.14 $0.16
35 $0.11 $0.13 $0.14
40 $0.10 $0.11 $0.13
45 $0.09 $0.10 $0.11

You might want to go ahead and make a program for 5 to 6 dollars, 6 to 7 dollars, 7 to 8 dollars....on up to 12-15 dollars!

Oh, and water at $25 a gallon at Walmart!
Water trucks will go through the neighborhoods and dispense a minimum of five gallons for $30 per gallon, cash only.

Baths back to once per two weeks, and clothes washed every month.

Bathtubs and showers will be outlawed. Zinc coated washing tubs only.

Interesting but inaccurate scenario. We won't see gas at $12-$15 per gallon...why? Because if/once it gets around $10 the economy will cease to function. Our entire economy was built on the availability of cheap fuel. $10 gallon gas would destroy us. Bet on it.

Secondly, a gallon of water now costs around $0.79-$1.19, depending on the brand. The type of hyperinflation needed to spike the cost to $30 would be so damaging and crippling to our economy and dollar that the dollar would be useless. In other words, water wouldn't have time to get to $30/gallon because by that time our currency would be so worthless no one would be using it anymore. US dollar prices would be arbitrary. We'd be dependent on barter systems and local black markets.

More current "positive thinking."

Anything that there is little of that we have to have can be priceless!
Doesn't necessarily mean that everything else is the same.

GOLD for instance.
