Obama: Wrong On Iran

Obama: Wrong On Iran

"The reason not to negotiate with Ahmadinejad is not simply to stand on ceremony or some kind of policy of non-recognition. It is based on the fundamental need to topple his regime by increasing the sense the Iranian people have — that he has isolated Iran from the rest of the world, to its severe and ongoing detriment."

Seventy five THOUSAND people showed up to see Barack Obama in Portland, Oregon today.

One and a half MILLION people have contributed money to Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

Looks like your military son will be saluting a black commander-in-chief this time next year....I suppose you'll have to disinherit him to keep your family "honor" intact.

School is out for summer. Portland almost makes San Francisco look moderate. Pull this off in Cincinatti Ohio or Harrisburg Pennsylvania, then I will be impressed. This is as impressive as getting Senator Byrd to show up at a klan rally in the early 50's.

You just love to throw out there numbers based on Obamas website although the Oregonian reports say that Obama himself only estimate 30,000 and others say MAY be as high as 70,000. Now, considering this is Oregon should come as no surprise to anyone. I love Oregon, was born in pdx, have lots of family and friends there, but it is a tree hugging, dope smoking state. i just saw Baraks speech that he gave in Montana on c-span.

Wow - he rocked it! he said that the first thing he would do as president is hold a meeting with everyone on health care.

here's what he said-
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO UNDERSTAND IS, IT'S NOT GOING TO BE EASY TO REFORM THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

AND THE WAY TO DO IT IS TO GET THE AMERICAN PEOPLE INVOLVED AND TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. WHEN I START -- WHEN I TAKE OFFICE, THE FIRST THING I'M GOING TO DO, CALL EVERYBODY TOGETHER -- I'M GOING TO CALL DOCTORS, NURSES, PATIENTS ADVOCATES, HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATORS, EMPLOYERS, LABOR, WE'LL HAVE THE DRUG COMPANIES, INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL BE ABLE TO JOIN THE CONVERSATION, THEY JUST WON'T BE ABLE TO BUY EVERY CHAIR. AT THE TABLE THE WAY THEY'VE BEEN DOING. AND WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO IS, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A FULL CONVERSATION.
WITH REPUBLICANS, DEMOCRATS, EVERYONE. I'LL PUT FORWARD A PLAN.
BUT IF PEOPLE HAVE IDEAS I'LL BE HAPPY TO LISTEN TO THEM. I'M GOING TO DO IT ON C-SPAN, PUBLICLY, SO THAT YOU CAN WATCH TO SEE WHAT IS YOUR CONGRESSMAN DOING, WHAT IS YOUR
SENATOR DOING, ARE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES LOOKING AFTER YOUR
INTERESTS WHEN IT COMES TO HEALTH CARE. THIS IS A BASIC PRINCIPLE THAT I WANT TO INSTITUTE.

YOU, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, HAVE TO HELP ME IF I'M PRESIDENT, HOLD GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE.
I CAN'T DO IT BY MYSELF. YOU HAVE GOT TO HELP HOLD ME ACCOUNTABLE.
THAT'S WHY WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TRANSPARENCY AND OPENNESS IN HOW WE WORK THE SYSTEM.

so the first thing he will do before he does anything else as president is hold this meeting on c-span so that we can see what everyone is doing. i cant wait for that to happen, and we get to hold him accountable. if this isnt the first thing that he does after taking office, then we know that we cant expect him to do what he says he will do. this is gona be great free health care for everyone beginning next year. you heard him say it right here

I feel your conservative wingnut pain, flamer, really I do. Conservatism is dying, people are turning out in record numbers to see Democratic candidates...it's enough to make you want to eat a gun, right?

Look in all the major papers this morning....even FOX NEWS!!!...and you'll see that the Portland fire department verified the crowd as being between 70,000 to 72,000.

Now I realize a big number like this makes a good little conservative mouthbreather like you reflexively doubt this...after all you conservatives are trained from birth to disregard facts that don't reflect positively on your preconceived political positions...but for those of us in the reality-based community those are some very, very large numbers.

Go over to your beloved Fox News and take a look at the crowd video!

Allllll those people will be voting to drive a stake into conservatism's nasty heart this November! Smiling

p.s. I noticed you never responded to my beatdown of your moronic analysis of the gay marriage legal decision the other day. Wuss.

Do not spread false reports. Do not help a wicked man by being a malicious witness.

Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong.

When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd,

and do not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit. Exodus 23:1-3

While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people. Matthew 26:47

So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, "Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?"
Matthew 27:17

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed. Matthew 27:20

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man's blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!" Matthew 27:24

"What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?" Pilate asked them.

"Crucify him!" they shouted.

"Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!"

Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. Mark 15:12-15

Aliquando and Blazing, be it 30,000 or 75,000 people showing up to listen to Barack Obama, how can this be insignificant?

1. They vote in Oregon. And their votes count.

2. When a candidate receives more financial contributions from military families than the veteran they are running against, that veteran has serious problems.

3. Obama has received more votes from first time voters than Hillary or McCain.

4. The way I see this future general election process working out, things look pretty scary for John McCain and his party:

a. Barack has raised more money
b. Obama has received more votes
c. Republicans are 0 for 3 in Special elections this year, even after tying their democratic opponents to Obama (as if that would be bad for the democratic candidates).

November will bring all voters this choice:

Vote for the man who will continue to keep current troop levels in Iraq, press on with our current economic policies, and cast votes for the man most resembling a Bush third term, Or......

Vote for the man who will refocus our efforts to Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, begin shaping our economic policies to actually pay down debts, and end the politics of division, guilt by association, and personal attack.

How, exactly, is it insignificant to bring to light statistics that provide evidence of a grass-roots swell of support for the democratic front-runner, even among military contributers who were previously overwhelmingly republican supporters? Seems quite relevant to me, and I sense the RNC and GOP are sitting up and taking notice; not that they can stop any of this momentum.

Oregon and its electoral votes have always been in the Dem. collumn. I agree that the momentum is in favor of the Dems. Most conservatives that I know have no viable candidate. Most of us do not want McPain to represent our party. You guys are on a roll like we were in 94. I just do not agree that Oregon is a weather - vane for the rest of the country. I think both sides have lost site of what it means to be an American. I am a conservative and have been severely dissapointed by the Republican party. I just think that McPain is the lesser of two evils. We have the right to persue happiness, others should not have to pay for it. It is late so I ask forgiveness for any grammatical or spelling errors.

"Vote for the man who will refocus our efforts to Al Qaeda in Afghanistan", - i.e., leave Iraqis to fend off the mad Mullahs and Iranian terrorists by themselves, after, of course, Barack has a powwow with the Iranian dictator.

"begin shaping our economic policies to actually pay down debts",- i.e, raise taxes without reducing pork barrel ans special interest spending,

"and end the politics of division", - i.e. everyone will be forced to join the BLT movement, except whites which will be eliminated,

"guilt by association", - i.e., the fact that Barack has belong to a hate-filled, racist church that wants to destroy white people will not be allowed to be discussed.

"and personal attack"- because Barack cannot handle criticism, and no criticism of him will be tolerated under the Obama regime.

Well, if I get what is going on with the votes and participation Senator Barack Obama is getting, it is a simple thing really.
The way we have done everything in the last eight years has not worked, and that includes the minority problem in this country--black and Hispanic.
Many feel that it is time immediately to simply throw in the towel and accept all of them, as they are, without qualms, and Barack thinks he can administer that for the USA. Giving it words and no action is not working he thinks.

No one knows of course how that is to be done exactly and with a fast method, but I think in reality it will again get smothered with all of the other problems we have: a stupid expensive, life taking war; our economy depressing every week; our base "treasure," oil, pricing us out of the market; the dollar worth $.50 now to what it was five years ago---won't buy but 2/3 as much oil or anything else; our national debt swelling to Nine Trillion dollars from four Trillion in the last seven years; our military exhausted and with no plan to replace them quickly; a large country (Iraq) totally destroyed and with little progress in five years to even get hospitals open, schools open, the water flowing, power to very many, roads not repaired, and even their $130 oil not paying for the war after all these years, nor even paying the help--we do that. Not to mention the USA infrastructure is devastated.

People are now willing to try anything to stop the fast drift into an atomic war!
They don't care much if it is a very young, inexperienced, Senator who will be overwhelmed; or a very old Senator who isn't a liberal or a conservative and is unpredictable even after all these years.
The First serious woman candidate is being beaten for the nomination by a black man, which would have been impossible eight years ago!

All this because one conservative segment of our population let their group do most of this and said nothing against it firmly, but instead said everything will be OK!

Not only do I think that you are a traitor, but the lowest form of scum that walks the face of the earth that has the audacity to wear an Air Force Uniform.

Now, you posted an article from over a year ago, befor gates was even defense secretary.
"Gates, who had advocated dialogue with Iran before becoming defense secretary, said "the regional talks recently held in Baghdad were a good start toward improved cooperation, and our government is open to higher-level exchanges. But Gates also warned of the need for realism in dealing with Tehran. Now, I know that most libs will lap that type of stuff up, but your not fooling anyone. Things change. The Iranian dictator has shown himself to be a phsycopathic killer, bent on wiping out Israel and your boy Obama wants to sit down and have tea with him."

Your are a conteptable, sorry excuse for an American, Hack.

I have said over and over and over again, I am not a fan of McCain.
You just can't seem to get that through your thick skull. It is extremely unfortunate for the Republican party that they couldn't draft someone better than McCain to run, because Obama is promising things to the dumb masses that will end up destroying America

Well here’s some up-to-date stuff from today about remarks Gates made last week:

“U.S. Defence Secretary Robert Gates called on Wednesday for more unofficial contacts with Iran, saying this might eventually open a pathway to more substantive dialogue between the governments.”

Gates urges more nongovernment contacts with Iran

“The United States should construct a combination of incentives and pressure to engage Iran, and may have missed earlier opportunities to begin a useful dialogue with Tehran, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said yesterday.”

Gates: U.S. Should Engage Iran

The Voice of America reports on Gates remarks of last week:

“U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates says the United States should develop some leverage on Iran and then hold talks with the regime that the U.S. government says supports global terrorism and sponsors insurgents in Iraq who are killing American troops.”

US Defense Secretary Calls for More Leverage

The Philadelphia Inquirer had a wonderful article exposing the nearly schizophrenic positions Bush has taken trying not to admit that he will hold talks with Iran.

Bush slams the talks his team fosters

The Boston Globe points out the sheer stupidity of Bush’s “appeasement” comments and notes that Bush’s only small foreign policy victory came from negotiating with terrorists:

“On the matter of negotiating with radicals and terrorists, somebody on Bush's staff ought to remind him that among his few foreign policy achievements are the agreements his diplomats negotiated with Libya's Moammar Khadafy and Kim Jong Il of North Korea.”

Bush's appeasement malarkey

Obama is right and the American people are going to support his position overwhelmingly.

Their thoughts aren't large enough to even get one's hands around them. You are in a state of reverse evolution. But, then again, if I was trying to take the offensive from the depths of a foxhole, I might understand your challenge more clearly.

1. The former Secretary of State and the current Secretary of Defense's opinions on how to negotiate with Iran "don't matter?" Wow! That is just paleolithic thinking.

2. Not negotiating has been how effective with Iran, the natural Shia ally to the Shiite country we just turned loose on the Middle East?

3. Beavis, the policies and people you support have been evading success for seven years now. Forgive me if I feel you have NO CREDIBILITY or SUCCESS to support your desparate arguments.

Barack is a racist.
Barack is an empty suit.
Barack is a terrorist appeaser (like Gates and Powell).
Barack is the antichrist (moronic post that you don't dare try to defend anymore; cowardice. pure cowardice).
Barack is a Marxist.
Barack is a socialist.
Barack is a communist.
Did I mention, Barack is a racist?

Sad little man you are, Beaver. I remember when you first started blogging. It was in response to jewels being stolen from a retail store. The thief was described as a five foot something, black male. Do you remember your response, Beaver?

You emphasized black and then put, "figures."

The next crime that had a black criminal in the description? You blogged, "Typical."

That is why Mixer, River, me, Main, Sniff, and a host of other bloggers here accurately labeled you a bigot. So it is COMICAL to hear you refer to that "racist" BLT. What a joke, Beaver. You are who you are. Don't run from it. Embrace it. Stand by the blogs you enter talking about the "Typical" black criminal and the "antichrist" who is Obama. Don't lob these disjointed thoughts and run. Stand and fight to defend what you say.

So, again, what makes you any different from those who called Ronald Wilson Reagan the antichrist?

Why won't you address the issue of Obama and his membership in a racist, hate-filled, wants-to destroy-whitey church? All you can do is throw out meaningless accusations of bigotry at me while your boy Obama belongs to a bigoted organization.

You are really pathetic, Kevin. Your boy Obama and his skeezer of a wife are showing their true colors as racists and bigots. The fact that people like you and David’s Mom and 92% of the black voters are following speak volumes about their lack of character.

Now, I really could care less of what you think of me – it really isn’t important.

You continue to say Obama is half this and that! Why?

As you must know, due to no fault of any race, a very high percentage of our citizens are of mixed blood due to the lack of birth control in the 1700s and the 1800s.

Also races are marrying and co-existing today and having mixed children in high numbers.

For instance: is Colin Powell mixed? Is David Justice and his former Hollywood actress wife both mixed? Was Barbara Walters lover of the 70s mixed? Is Harry Belafonte mixed? What difference does it make now? Some whites consider 1/16 black blood as black, and they won't change. I don't know what blacks consider as white. (1/16th?)

Are you saying that Senator Obama is not a black man? Might he favor one race over another, you think?

Was Jesus white? Or Arab? Or jewish? or a mixture? What was his Grandaddy's mixture on his Mother's side? What difference does it make?

What was Noah and his wife? What race?

What kind of people were in the land of Nod? Kain went there and married didn't he after killing Able? Were they his cousins or sisters? We don't know do we?

Just get off it!

Those that mention race over and over and over and over and over and over and over are ALWAYS the ones that say it doesn't matter to them. Richard Hobbs and BPR are stuck on race race race race race, but will always say, after brining up race, "But it doesn't matter to me. We are all the human race." It reminds me of denying over and over and over and over that you did anything to affect soemone's career. After a while the denials generate suspicion.

I re-read your comment about the above one.
I also was trying to find out what she meant by "half" and why repeat it so much. The only thing I could make of it ll was that she did not consider Senator Obama a black man. For what reason, I don't know.

Of course race "matters" to most everyone. That is what I meant by "what difference does it make!" How it matters is the important thing!
One would have to ignorant to look at a person and not have an opinion as to their race, but that is, in my case anyway, simply to determine the best way to cooperate with the person.

Nothing can or should be done about it--all exist. Mixtures will continue to exist, and why not? We are all human, not just "one race."
As were the bigots of old concerned, I am not concerned that in a thousand years we may have one race of humans who won't be easily described! So, what?
I'm glad we don't all look like Alley Oop!

since you are so good at searching what everyone said on here {You and Denise}. You are going to have to prove to me (and everyone else on here} just where in the Citizen Blog, I ever stated that I was going to vote for Barack Obama for President. I know FOR A FACT, that I never made such a statement. Come on,,,your credibility is on the line here. I have nothing to prove to anyone. I am reminded of that line from a Lynard Skynard song "...ain't hidin' from nobody, nobody hidin' from me..." Have at it.

Who cares who you vote for?
If bpr wants to assume that, for goodness sake ,let her!

They are ideological comrades-in-arms, but they are two separate and distinct bigots.

You may recall they even had a little tiff a few months back when Denise announced (without source, of course) that God punished women for their slutty pre-marital behavior by making it difficult to conceive. BPR then spluttered "Hey waitaminute! It took me 15 years to conceive after I got married!" and Denise immediately backtracked. Laughing out loud

Has anyone told you, "You're unstable?"

Just wondering.......mommy, mommy! Make them stop! Tell the bad people to go away. I don't want to ride the elephant. No, I won't kiss the cricket! Get out from under my bed! My skin! It's trying to eat me!! AHHHHHHHHHH!

sums up what must be going through her head at any given moment. I can only imagine her dysfunctional household and the way the teenage son is being raised.

BPR, you should stop trying to meet people on this blog, requesting coffee meetings and phone calls and dropping in on people's churches and pastor's. Don't you think enough damage has been done lately? Look what happened to muddle. Stop acting like you know things about people that can hurt them. You've done enough. You are the only person on this blog who has shown animosity towards muddle and it is obvious that you and/or Denise had something to do with this.

I truly wish you would just dry up and blow away. You are pathetic.

I just baked the most delicious chocolate cake I've ever tasted. But you can't have any.

Too bad it's not very, well, "PC" to ride someone out of town on a rail.

To say nothing of tarring and feathering.

You must have got back from a long trip. That post was a little off?

How is Muddle? I saw where he asked you to email him. I hope he is doing okay. I will help in any way that I can. It's sad what happened to him. I am praying for him and his wife.

One more thing this is what I do daily. How about you?

I could not think of anything on my own, because Jupiter is such a strong influence in my natal chart I suppose, so I asked the oracle Google, and found "stupiter", but what that has to do with me I can't guess.

It's more entertaining than you might think.

The Reich Wing of the Republican Party was mistaken about a great deal of things, and now they are paying the price for their hubris.

Unfortunately, we will all pay part of that price as well.
