Velma McKeever Johnson, 59, Newnan, died March 11, 2008. She was born Feb. 27, 1949 to John Alvin and the late Bessie R. McKeever. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil L. Johnson, whom she married on Jan. 31, 1968, and a daughter, Conquista Montray Johnson. She attended Central High School, Newnan, and Carroll Technical School where she received her Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Services were at the Saint Smyrna Baptist Church. Survivors include children, Daniel and Carman Maria Hardaway Jr., Darrin Johnson, Cecil Danyell Anton and Rosalyn Johnson, Jason B. and Cardaryell Cevell Madison; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, John Alvin and Tommie McKeever, Jr.; sisters, Lois Moreland, Evelyn Smith, and Mary Colton; and aunts, Willie Potts and Joenell Dominick.

Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
