Tom Parker Sr., Fayetteville, formerly of East Point, died Jan. 23, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marguerite Parker; brothers, Orville, Guy, James and Pat Parker; sister-in-law, Hazel Cochran, and daughter-in-law, Gayle Parker. He was a World War II veteran serving in England with the United States Army 74th General Hospital. He was a lifetime member of East Point First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Services were at the East Point First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Stringham, the Rev. Chris Perkins, the Rev. Steve Hester, and the Rev. Wallace McAbee officiating. Interment was at College Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Lottie Moon Mission Offering, in care of New Hope Baptist Church, 551 New Hope Road, Fayetteville, GA 30214. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
