John A. Malcolm Sr., 95, Moreland, died Nov. 17, 2007. He was born April 10,1912, son of the late Andrew and Lila Malcolm. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mattie Ruth, who died in infancy, two brothers and a sister. He grew up in the Moreland area and was a member of the Mt. Prospect Baptist Church. He worked on the Usher Board for years and was ordained as a deacon. He was retired from the Central of Georgia Railway. Services were at the Mt. Prospect Baptist Church with interment at the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Lela Pearl Ramsey Malcolm; and children, John Andrew and Alice Malcolm Jr., James Willie Malcolm, and Louis Edward Malcolm; grandchildren, Suzette and Kenneth Jackson, Angelita Lynn, Christa and Andrews Gilbert, and Janette Malcolm; and five great-grandchildren.

Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
