Congregation B’nai Israel will host a Book Fair at Barnes & Noble in Fayetteville Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 6-8 p.m.

Dec. 4 is the first night of Chanukah, the Jewish celebration of the victory of the Maccabees and the rededication of the Jerusalem Temple. It also commemorates the miracle of the oil that burned for eight days. Members of Congregation B’nai Israel will light the Chanukah candles in the Starbucks Café at Barnes and Noble beginning at 6:15.

Following the lighting of the candles, children from the Religious School will sing Chanukah songs, led by Cantorial Soloist Susan Levine. Then a member of the congregation will tell the Chanukah story.

The community is invited to share in the celebration of Chanukah. It is requested that those attending ask for vouchers to help raise funds to support the congregation.

Contact Congregation B’nai Israel for more information, 678-817-7162.
