Aubrey Earl "Sonny" Shaddix Jr., 74, Newnan, died Nov, 5, 2007. He was born July 12, 1933 in Coweta County, son of Aubrey Earl and Mattie Mae Burks Shaddix Sr., He was graduated from Grantville High School and attended DeKalb Community College. He served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. He spent his entire professional career in law enforcement and security services. He served as a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol for 25 years and a federal marshal at the Lewis R. Morgan Federal Building and the United States Court House, Newnan. He was dedicated to the ministries of Northside Baptist Church where he was a charter member and had served as a deacon Sunday School teacher. He had recently been awarded a 50-year service pin for commitment to the Bigham Masonic Lodge, Moreland. Services were at the Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Carroll and the Rev. Dr. Bob Helton officiating. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Smith Shaddix, Newnan; children, DeeAnna Robertson, Todd and Kelly Shaddix, Randy Garrett, and Jana and William Miles; grandchildren Serena Robertson, Kayley Robertson, Kaitlyn Robertson, Tyler Yeager, Kamron Bunn, Kyle Long, Will Miles, and Ally Miles. Memorial donations may be made to the Northside Baptist Church ministries, 3070 Hwy. 29, North, Newnan, GA 30263.
