Don Haddix & Doug Sturbaum Hit Home Run with Comprehensive Plan attendees

During the comprehensive plan meeting it was becoming painfully obvious that nothing that was put forth as the plan could have any teeth at all as far as enforcement is concerned. Corner some land owner with cash and get a variance, much like the recent attack on Robinson road, and the whole plan is essentially thrown out. All a developer has to do is throw money at people willing to sell out and get council to vote in favor of a variance and all is changed forever. It was during this moment when the room was bemoaning there has to be something that can be done of a permanent nature that Don and Doug spoke up. And in a big way..

Don and Doug both laid out ideas and plans about how we can take back our city and not just in the short term. We can set forth something that has the longevity to survive the whims of politics and developer attacks. We can take back areas targeted for developer take over and make that land a permanent park or restricted use. We can do something that will have a lasting effect.

Don Haddix and Doug Sturbaum earned my vote in a BIG way tonight. They should have your vote as well.

I personally believe that if any of those three get in office, there will be no stopping Mayor Logsdon from doing a number on Peachtree City like happened to College Park some time ago.

College Park used to be a wonderful place to live and it used to have a great local economy. Hard to believe when you look at it now.
