Providence will host grand opening for new building

Providence United Methodist Church will have a grand opening for its new children’s building Saturday, Sept. 8, from 2-5 p.m. Activities will include a giant 29-foot slide, concessions, dunking booth, and games.

At 4 p.m., Providence will present “The Wave,” an upbeat children’s worship experience complete with drama and live band. Children K – 5th grade can attend this worship service Sunday mornings at 11:11 a.m.

“We are very excited to be able to expand our work for God through this new building,” said Kathi Sewak, children’s minister. “Because of the additional space, we were able to add a kindergarten and more preschool classes this fall.”

The children’s program, “The Net—catching kids for Christ,” includes weekday mother’s morning out, preschool, kindergarten, children’s choirs for children ages three through fifth grade, “The Lordwalk,” a rotation Sunday school at 10 a.m., “The Wave — Diving into Worship,” and kids’ fellowship programs for second through fifth graders on Sunday evenings.
