John Madden, the legendary NFL football coach and broadcaster, is now a legend in the video game world. His Madden football games are so popular that many video game fans around the world look at the release date of each year’s new installment like kids look at Christmas.

“Madden NFL 08” is being hailed by longtime fans of the game as the best version yet and Larry Justice, owner of XPlayground in Peachtree City, says this is due to previous problems being ironed out and a better overall presentation.
“Our regulars have noticed that the game’s AI (artificial intelligence) is smarter,” said Justice. “The receivers pay attention to keeping two feet inbounds and the defense really pays attention to the plays you choose, so players have to be careful which plays the choose if they want to be successful.”

Recent incarnations of the Madden games have allowed for online play and once a player goes online, there are roster updates. The most notable roster update removes Michael Vick from the Falcons roster. Online play also allows for season mode and tournament play, and friends in different places can team up online and challenge the computer or other human players.

A lot of noise has also been made about the “weapons” in “Madden NFL 08.” Certain star players have weapons allowing them to make exceptional plays as games continue. Players like Champ Bailey and LaDanian Tomlinson see things that other players don’t and look like the all-stars that they are.

“Madden NFL 08” is available on numerous video game platforms, though XPlayground only currently offers it for the XBox 360. They will host tournaments later this football season and will bring in more copies so that people can play them on the facilitie’s numerous tvs.
