The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Star 94 radio station, are bringing back the popular Movies Under The Stars event this Saturday, August 4 at the Peachtree City Baseball and Soccer Complex on Ga. Highway 74.

Up on the big screen this year will be “Secondhand Lions,” which will be shown on a giant blow-up screen. The film will begin at dusk, and audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets on which to enjoy the film.

Starring Robert Duvall, Michael Caine, Haley Joel Osment and Kyra Sedgwick, “Secondhand Lions” tell the story of Walter (Osment) who gets left with his two great uncles, Hub (Duvall) and Garth (Caine), on their remote Texas farm by his mother (Sedgwick). It’s the last place Walter wants to be, and his uncles don’t take well to the new arrangement either. When Walter begins to discover rumors and stories about his uncles' past, he begins to search out the truth and understand the real adventure behind where he is living. Full of fantastic flights of fancy and a heartwarming emotional backbone, “Secondhand Lions” is a film the whole family can enjoy.

“This is a great family movie,” said Ashley Alonso, leisure program coordinator with Peachtree City Parks and Recreation.
Admission and parking for the film are free, and concessions from different vendors are available. Those in attendance may also bring their own picnic baskets. No alcohol or pets are permitted at the event.
