Liberty plans dinner, concert
The Mission Ministry at Liberty Baptist Church will host a barbecue dinner and concert, Friday, Aug. 3. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for adults are $5, children 3 to 10 years $3. The concert is free and begins at 7 p.m. The church is at 1077 Ga. Hwy. 314 between Riverdale and Fayetteville. For more information, call 770-461-5644.

COS plans special service for teachers
On Monday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m., Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will have special service of prayer and appreciation for teachers as they begin the new school year. Those who teach, have ever taught or have ever been taught, are invited to come and share in the blessing. The church is on the corner of Ga. Hwy. 54 and Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City.

Depot singing donations sought
Roy Smith, who has hosted the monthly gospel singings at the old depot in Grantville for the past five years, is seeking donations to build a facility in the Grantville area to house the singings, due to the fact that the old depot is no longer available for their use. The city has earmarked the depot for renovations. For information about donating, contact Smith at Roy Smith, Depot Singings, P.O. Vereen to speak at First Baptist women’s event
Diane Vereen will be the guest speaker for the “Ultimate Gift Women’s Event,” scheduled for 6:45 - 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 at First Baptist Church, 208 Willowbend Rd. in Peachtree City. The cost is $5 and dessert will be served. Vereen has been involved with Precept Ministries since 1975 when the first Precept course was written. She began to conduct leadership training workshops nationwide in 1985 and has been on staff since 1991. To register for the event, phone 770-487-8133.

Kindermusik starts Aug. 20 at Fayetteville First
Kindermusik, the international music program for young children, will begin a 15 week semester of classes Aug. 20 at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Classes are grouped for newborns (0-18 months), toddlers (18 months to 3 years), preschoolers (3-5 years) and young children (4.5 to 7 years).
