Fr. David and Pat Jones to be honored at CTK this Sunday

This Sunday, the clergy and congregation of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg will recognize and honor Father David Jones and his wife, Pat, for nearly 11 years of leadership.
The Joneses are relocating to Baton Rouge, La.

Jones, who has been the minister of music and worship at the church since its founding in 1996, has written most of the music that the congregation sings each Sunday.

Jones also has written and produced two worship albums during his tenure at Christ the King: “True Music” and “The Bishop’s Mass.” Both feature singers and musicians from the church.

In 1996, Jones led a musical and preaching mission to Ireland.

He has led worship in special events of the Diocese of Georgia, the Mid-South Diocese, and the Southeast Province.

Jones, a layman when Christ the King was founded, was eventually ordained as a deacon and later as a priest by the Most Rev. John W. Holloway, bishop of the Mid-South Diocese.

The Joneses were instrumental in helping to plant a mission church, St. Matthew’s, in Hogansville.
David Jones has served as a member of the church’s Rector’s Council and Parish Council. Pat Jones has served as a sound technician and as a member of the Parish Council.

“It will be very difficult to say farewell,” said Father David Epps, pastor of Christ the King. “David and Pat are beloved friends who have poured themselves into this congregation. Their influence will remain for many years but their presence will be terribly missed.”
