Who's really fit to lead this city?

First off I want to say that I am extremely disappointed in both candidates at this time.

Both can take time to stage debates and rebut with last minute fliers over cleaning gutters, but they cannot take the time to respond to us; the citizens of the City that they wish to lead.

I have tired of both camps simply restating what they have been stating for quite some time. Yes, I know you like Mayor Brown, and Yes; I know you hate Mayor Brown. But both candidates silence to the questions is in my mind, inexcusable.

Mayor Brown, you never hesitated to contact me when you felt that something had transpired and that I needed to get copies of council minutes to potentially use against other council members, yet you don't respond to my question now. Why?

Mr. Logsdon and your supporters, you have been saying time and again, he has the answers, just talk to him. I have asked, I haven't heard the answers, and he isn't speaking.

So it brings me to this. On Tuesday December 6th, you both want my vote, yet at this time, I feel that neither of you deserve it. Too bad there isn't a third option of can we do this again and choose another candidate!

I look forward to more silence.

Dana, I agree that neither one of these guys has said anything meaningful about issues - Brown makes stuff up and Logsdon is carefully non-committal. So who to vote for? The grown-up of course. Mature people act that way when they are given responsibility. Immature people who have never had responsibility (or even a real job)try to validate themselves without concern for the long-term consequenses of their actions.

Dana, get real. No one, not Brown, not Logsdon OWES you their full time attention to get your vote. You think either one of these gentlemen can pacify every single constituent for $9000 a year? Get real.

Get off your butt and make a decision and quit crying the Candidates won't appease you. You have three choices, Brown, Logsdon, or don't vote. This isn't the Presidency. You can complain if you vote, but remember, this isn't their life's ambition to please us. It's who do we want to lead the City. The end. Make a choice but don't expect miracles from either man.

One last comment before I retire for the night.

Patti, I personally setup interviews with nearly all of the candidates. I established the questions and saw to it that nearly each one was asked the exact same questions.

I facilitated the Candidate Forum at the Centennial HOA clubhouse, where all but 2 of the Mayoral Candidates attended and only 1 City Council Candidate did not attend in person or provide a written response to the questions.

So, yes, I do feel that I have given them exposure to a larger crowd and, yes, I do feel that they owe me an answer.

As for pacifying every single constituent, no, that is unrealistic. But these questions are being asked by several citizens, and collectively these candidates owe us an answer.

I guess you're unaware of who Dana Kinser is. I believe he is either a president or a board member of one of the largest homeowners' associations in Peachtree City (if I'm wrong, please correct me). He appears to have a good deal of influence and I believe he has a right to ask the questions, as does PTC Guy, as do I, as do you. The mayor is even going to answer my questions (at least it appears he is, as he asked where they were).

It's the inconsistencies that bother me. I do agree with you - neither man can walk on water, nor should they.

Just to set the record straight, I have served on the Centennial HOA in various capacities for the past 2 years. Last month I stepped down to spend more time with my 2 daughters and haven't missed it one bit.

Patti,

Mayor Brown has called on me several times, and I repeat SEVERAL times. I'm not crying, but he has either mistated himself or outright lied.

I want to know which it is and his silence lends toward the latter. As an elected official, I expect better than a flat out lie. No crying, simply asking for the "Man who loves us" to show it the right way.

Mayor Brown is the one that "Loves being my Mayor", so maybe it is his ambition to please me. How can you speak for him, unless he has asked you to compose this?

Dana, and all,

You make some valid points. Thanks for the comments.

I don't speak for anyone but myself, but you've obviously done research. I just hope we don't expect too much from anyone, then blame whomever for all our woes when things go difficult.

Good luck to all of us.

I have met with him as well. He was not dishonest and he listened.

And there goes the silence again.

Hope I haven't upset you too much.

Other than the candidates, and maybe Paula Johnson, nobody has upset me, but I have tired of the same old same old. I am very frustrated with the silence from the candidates. Mayor Brown is asking, where's the questions, when they have been there all along.

Since Harold doesn't seem to be able to login to this forum, I wonder how he will ever manage his city issued laptop.

Speaking of Harold, another question of mine that he, nor his supporters have ever answered; is how many years was he an auditor at Bellsouth? If he started as a lineman, he didn't jump into auditing overnight. At what level was he auditing?

Is that Mayor Brown or a spammer?

Admin needs to do an IP check to figure that one out, maybe.

As I noted on another topic I had a get out to vote for Logsdon call. THEY had no idea what his stance was on any of the issues we have asked him.

I was told to call him and he would answer. But when I said he doesn't answer emails I was told to call him.

Now, what is the difference between an email and phone call? One has a record and trail, the other does not.

I agree with you. I am tired of the silence and dodging. Not good from either of them.

So I go with the facts I know. And those were all provided by Brown.

As for pizza, no issue there for after the election from me, if I was invited to start with.

Once done we are all just citizens once more.

PTC Guy is more than invited for Pizza. When this is all done, I would like to think that as mature adults, we can agree to disagree and move on. After all, in 4 years we get to do this again.

By the way, Dan Tennant volunteered idontknow to buy the pizza.

For once I agree with Tennant! Good man, Dan.

I won't ask for volunteering information, but I wonder how man HOA presidents and other Officers and Directors are either lurking or posting here? I say that since it was mentioned above.

Since some have figured it out to a degree, at this time I will own up to being an HOA Director at least.

I don't know if I can pay for it - the salary as the "mayor of Blogville" doesn't pay enough for the amount of work I have to put in - 70-80 minutes a night Smiling

The Mayor of Blogville is only a part-time position!
