Starr’s Mill’s Fletcher a national all-star game nominee

The All-American Baseball Game presented by PlayStation is proud to announce that Fayetteville’s Brian Fletcher has been officially nominated to play in the annual east versus west national all-star game.

Showcasing America’s top prep baseball players, the All-American Baseball Game presented by PlayStation will be played on June 4, 2007 at 9:00 PM (EST) at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The live broadcast on the Fox Sports Network provides the nation’s top ranked prospects a national platform to display their talents up against the best of their class.

Fletcher, a MIF from Starr’s Mill High School is one of 100 nominees being considered for final selection to play in this year’s contest.

Fletcher is projected to be selected early in the Major League Baseball amateur draft on June 7th.

“We are honored to nominate Brian for this year’s All-American Baseball Game presented by PlayStation,” said Rich McGuinness, president and CEO of SportsLink- the games producer. “It will be exciting to track Brian’s progress throughout the season and see if he is selected to compete against the nation’s best.”

Of the 100 nominees, 40 will be selected to fill east and west rosters. Official selections for the All-American Baseball Game presented by PlayStation will begin with the kickoff of the All-American Baseball Game Selection Tour, scheduled to begin on April 13, 2007. The Selection Tour will conclude at the end of May.
