Starr's Mill golfers improve to 9-0

The Starr’s Mill boys golf team continued their undefeated season with a solid win over the Whitewater boys team at Planterra Ridge CC Monday afternoon. Using the four low scores on the team, Starr’s Mill recorded a one under par 143 team total to beat the Whitewater team’s 174 total by 31 shots. Low scores for Starr’s Mill were carded by Connor MacBean (34), Adam Baaklini (36), Tyler Smith (36), and Cory Crump (37).
Shooting the low scores for Whitewater were Nick Ward (41), Joe Falkenbach (41), Chris Sandwich (44) and Kasey Brooks (48).

The Panthers improved their record to 9 - 0 with a solid 11 stroke team victory over the team from Woodward Academy Wednesday afternoon. Playing at Woodward’s home course, Wolf Creek CC in College Park, the Starr’s Mill team totaled 151 strokes to Woodward’s 162 strokes.

The four low scores recorded by the Starr’s Mill team came from MacBean (37), Callaway Evans (37), Smith (37) and KG Bragg (40). Other scores by the SMHS team were Crump (40), Peter Cummings (41), Baaklini (42) and Keith Nickles (44).

“This is the deepest, most talented team I have had here at Starr’s Mill,” said Coach Chad Phillips. “Every match we have a different player steps up and records a low score for us."
