More military promotions and rewards for Iraq

We now have a new Army Chief of Staff. The top army job.
The General just spent about three years in Iraq, saying that he didn't want to send ONE more soldier into war than he had to send. A noble gesture.
The General is a fine man, I believe, who wished he had not had to obey orders as he did for those three years.
It would have been much better however for our army and for him, if he had taken his retirement sooner and not accepted this new job.
Why on earth would a general say he didn't want any more soldiers when he was losing the war, unless he were being instructed to do so? You could see it in his wonderful grey hair.

Dollar, if you are paid a dollar a day and found you are being grossly overpaid and fed. you say you support our troops but all you do is critizise the troops and their leadership. These Generals are given a tough job to do and they do it the best that they can given what they have to work with. They can't all retire at the same time just to suit you. If this was the sixties I bet you and your friends would be in the airports spitting on our troops as they passed through.

Much as I git critized for not supporting the police just because I point out their failings; I've read little on the blogs of finding fault with the feet on the ground. The tough job you refer to these generals doing should have been to tell the Lt. from the TX Air Guard that he was a fool and an idiot. You know like the Wehmarcht should have told the little Cpl. from AUT. Even Sen. McCain seems to have a problem w/ these "leaders."
I never spit on any returning V-N troops but I sure listened to them in the Bulldog Room in Athens and was glad I was a proud draft resister. Support Our Troops. Bring Them Home Alive. & Don't come for mine until the Twins are sent in (or that good looking nephew). Until then to quote V.P. Cheney, "I have better things to do."
Irag is not a country. Has never been a country. & is the figment of some long dead British diplomat's pen to gain oil for a long gone empire.
