Myrtle R. Hackney, 86, Atlanta, died Jan. 22, 2007. She was born May 18, 1920 in Pickens County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh H. Hackney, and brothers, Sonny Reeves and George Reeves. Graveside services were at Forest Hills Memorial Park, College Park, with Chaplain Cynthia Trapaneze officiating. Survivors include a son, Max and Liz Hackney, Decatur; daughters, Vivian J. Hackney, Clarksdale, Miss., and Patricia and Duaine Alderman, Big Canoe; several grandchildren; and sisters, Lillian R. Bowers, Fayetteville, and Jacqueline and Fred Perkins, Canton. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
