Anyone else tried 5 guys burgers yet?

5 guys is a new burger place that has opened in the walmart/homedepot shopping center in the same building as panda cafe. I tried them last night and I just don't expect them to last for very long. Their food is good but too expensive for a burger joint. For 9$ I got a bacon cheeseburget and an order of fries and that is without a drink. I could go to nearly every other burger place in town and get a combo meal with the same thing including a drink for around 7 or 8$ and the burgers are just as good. If you don't eat meat you are out of luck, they don't seem to offer any sort of vegi-burger and they also don't have any other side items besides fries. There is a wider seclection for lower prices at pretty much every other burget place in town. Anyone else tried 5 guys and have any thoughts about it?

They should season their meat. The toppings were great, but the meat tasted "flat" to me. If they added a touch of salt and pepper to the patty it would be the best burger in PTC.

BTW, I like the concept of having only 3 items on the menu (burgers, hot dogs, and fries.) They can focus on making a few high quality choices.

5 Guys is not the place to eat if you are the health conscious type who eats veggie burgers! This is a good ole fashioned burger joint! I am from Connecticut and the burgers remind me of the steamed cheeseburgers we used to get there. A small burger is plenty big and the fries....let's just say, you can't eat just one, but for one person, it's impossible to eat a small size portion alone! And remember, no healthy cooking of those fries is attempted - 100% pure peanut oil=golden perfection! An added treat for me is the malt vinegar they offer to sprinkle on the fries! Our family of 4 ate there last Friday eve, spent $24.40 (4 small burgers, 2 small fries and 4 drinks). Yeah, we could go to another "burger joint" in town but would certainly not have gotten the same quality meal and it would have cost us more. So in closing, we love 5 Guys and wish them all the success here in Peachtree City.

So no surprise there. Most folks will say the smaller burger is big enough, and the fries can easily be split.

I like a place that cuts their fries fresh, and doesn't cook frozen meat. It's definitely a "cut above" most fast food burger joints.

I thought that 5 guys was a really good restaurant. I would rather pay extra for a fresh not frozen burger that is huge. The portions are really big there 2 people could share a small fry easily. Everyone should try it!!!!!
