For those of you unfamiliar, he was the 17 year old black male convicted as a sex offender for consensual oral sex with a 15 year old. He is currently serving a 10 year sentence for aggravated child molestation. Yesterday Judge Thomas Wilson of the Monroe County Superior Court found that Genarlow’s sentence met the definition of “cruel and unusual punishment”, granted his appeal, and changed his conviction to a misdemeanor.
