Mr. Garlock,

Thank you for taking the time to pen this thoughtful and refreshing op-ed. When it comes to politicans, I feel that we should-in the words of Ronald Reagan- trust but verify. We need to be on the look out for the Victor Hills, Mark Foleys, and Bill Jeffersons of the world. At the same time, however, we need to understand that many individuals run for public office because they sincerely believe that they can make the world a better place.

Although I read the online version of The Citizen religiously, I rarely post comments. The recent news that Sam Sweat and Scott Ballard have teamed up to save taxpayers millions of dollars, however, prompted me to publicly thank them for what they do for Fayette County.
