I saw the list of requests of the nation's mayors today for money from the new bailout fund which is supposed to create jobs that we wouldn't pay for on our own, locally.

Usually, I make little mention of the differentials in crime statistics based upon race, and for good reason: European-Americans are a fair-minded people who are uncomfortable with painting people with too broad of a brush. We tend to be very individualistic and try to judge each person on his own merit, so most of our audience realizes that a broad statistic about a given ethnic group doesn't justify condemning a given individual.

This past weekend the GHSA State Wrestling Championship tournament was held at the Gwinett Arena. Every high school in Fayette County had at least one wrestler who placed in the Top 6 of their weight class. All totaled Fayette County High Schools qualified 27 wrestlers for the State Tournament, with 13 of them placing.

I have read all of the explanations as to who will be bailed out but I still don't know just who, except in a few cases.

Next will be Bank of America, then Wells-Fargo (Wachovia).

We will be giving them the loans we already made to them in exchange for $1-2 stock! Maybe we can make the stock worth more eventually and then sell it?

Over the past 30 years, I've been paid to write almost two million words, every one of which, sooner or later, came back to the issue of guns and gun-ownership. Naturally, I've thought about the issue a lot, and it has always determined the way I vote.

That there republican governor raised the sales tax to about 13% I think it is now.
Saved those tax paid jobs.

There are about four state governors saying now that they don't want the recession bailout money voted by congress.
