Word of Life Family Church continues to grow

By CAROLYN CARY
Contributing Writer

The Word of Life Family Church is one of nearly 1,000 churches in the United States affiliated with the Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Okla.

It began three years ago when three families in Peachtree City got together, then met at McIntosh High School, and in August 1998 they moved to a store site in Fayetteville.

The church enjoys a membership of 200 persons and is looking forward to starting a building of its own on nearly nine acres on Ga. Highway 92 north. It hopes to move in by next fall. It will open with a 400-seat sanctuary, offices and classrooms.

The pastor is the Rev. Dayne Massey, who was born and reared in Selma, Ala. His family lived in Peachtree City for several years and he attended Booth Middle School and McIntosh High School for two years, before they returned to Selma.

After graduating from Rhema Bible College in 1988, he served a congregation in Henry County for eight years, coming to Word of Life at its inception.

He is married to Lisa, whom he met at a church in Clayton County, and they have been married for 13 years.

Word of Life holds a School of Ministry each year with a year's course in studying in advance to enter a theological school. Thirteen have just graduated from the course and the next one will begin the middle of January.

The church supports a book printing project that prints Christian books in the language of the country it's going to: China, Armenia, Turkey and Iran.

Services are each Sunday at 10 a.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The church is at 570 W. Lanier Ave., Ste. 101, Fayetteville and can be reached at 770-716-0034. The e-mail address is wol@word-of-life.com.
