Winter
workout camps keep local youth active The Fayette County Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Peachtree City Recreation Department, is offering a winter workout camp beginning Jan. 5. This eight-week camp for boys and girls 4 to 18 is designed to provide families a sports opportunity during the day. This program will add a physical fitness element and allow for interaction with peers. Sports also will be used to teach important character traits to the participants. The camp will be broken up into two sessions, one Tuesday and the other Wednesday. Participants may attend one or all sessions. The Tuesday session will include basketball and will be at the Kedron Field House. The Wednesday sessions will include floor hockey (no skates) and be at the Kiwanis recreation center. Both sessions will allow one-hour time blocks for various age groups with the first time block beginning at 9 a.m. and the last time block finishing at noon. Registration fee is $50 per person per session. Registration is now being taken at the Fayette County Recreation Department and Peachtree City Kedron Field House.
